So indecisive

I was talking with Bob on the phone around 6 last night. Got cut off. Never could reach him again. Phone kept going to voice mail. Same this morning., Then he finally called me. He says he needs to charge his phone and that something is wrong with reception there in the hospital. I wanted to know if there were limits on visiting hours, and if they had told him anything. He does not know about visiting hours, no one told him anything, he has a different doctor now and they cannot find his card that tells the details about his pacemaker/defibrillator. Oh, and he wants socks to come home in. I told him where to look in his back pack, and promised to check my purse as well. It is not there. He and I both know the doctor he first saw copied that information. I am pretty sure the card came back to us. I put it in with his things so he would have it. They need it to do the MRI. I am not planning on going unless Bob tells me to today. I am going to mow some more as always, and begin shampooing the carpets. I have bedding in the wash. Bills to pay. I just do not know where to start. I got ready to nap but I will not. I think I will eat some more breakfast.

So frustrating when there is no communication. I hope things get worked out soon for both of you.

Still waiting, all day Thursday, for an MRI. Maybe they did it overnight. He thought they might.

I could tell him specifically where it was and I was not even there at the time.

Things can easily get overwhelming, but you just have to take it one step at a time. And you took a great first step this morning by eating some more breakfast. I hope you are able to find the card with the pacemaker/defibrillator ingot on it.

He had the card, just as I said. Even nursing staff could not find it when they looked but I told him exactly where to find it in his backpack. Sure enough it was there.

@GardenGerty Is that similar to when a child stands there looking inside the refrigerator and says they can’t find the ketchup, and you tell them it is right there in the door and they say they looked but it’s not there, and then you finally get up and go to the kitchen and look inside the fridge and the ketchup is right there inside the door just like you said it was? Lol

This would all be frustrating. Remember to be kind to yourself as best as possible.

It is one of the closer big hospitals but it feels so out of reach.

Do what you need to do at home. Pray and meditate. Then call the supervisor at the hospital.

I talked with Bob, a few times yesterday. I am going today. Hopefully he will have had his MRI by the time I get there. I want to go before it gets too hot. All the pavement in the city and on the interstate makes things very hot for driving.I will come home around noon. Hottest part of the day is after 2 p.m.

You have a lot going on. I hope you take the time to relax. I hope things go well with Bob and you can visit him soon. I know hospitals here have eased many of their restrictions on visitors.

I remember the (not so) good old days when there were two hours here, two hours there and no just coming in whenever you could.

Hope Bob gets well soon and you find his card and the MRI gets done. It's very difficult to continue with household chores while some dear one is in the hospital.

I hope that Bob is doing as well as can be expected and that he is able to come home soon. Sending prayers and healing thoughts. I hope he finds the card. Don't work too hard and try to stay cool in this heat.

Go step by step and think only of the immediate task you are engaged in. Otherwise you will feel overwhelmed.

Worries are a part and parcel of everyone's life. But God helps those who help themselves.
