Productive Day

I got a few things done this morning. First was 4 more rows weeded in the garden. Then I got a few things out of the grow out pen so I can move the little chickens outside this weekend. I also transplanted my cucumbers. Hopefully they start growing very quickly now. I have them where I can easily keep them watered. We went to the funeral. I had seen my cousin over the winter. He looked like he had aged at least 5 years since then. One of his brothers broke down when we hugged. That got me crying a little bit. Especially as that brother isnt a real emotional person. The cousin that passed only had a sister younger than him out of 9 kids. My aunt doesnt look good at all. The younger sister did make it home. She lives out of country. We ordered pizza to bring home. I didnt do too much after that. Just watered my plants and fed my chickens. I am supposed to have a solar panel for the trail cameras tomorrow. So I reset the length of the video for longer that faces Georges pasture. Hopefully the deer visits tonight. I also moved one of the cameras so it faces the other side yard. I hope to get good pictures there also. Hope you had a good day. Almost forgot. The picture is my walking onions. They are making lots of baby onions this year.

I got a phone call from the pharmacist, letting me know that the medication the doctor wants to try on me has been approved. So they will send the meds to the doctor's office and then the doctor will let me know when I can go in for the first shot. (She also said the price is $3,000 a shot. But the insurance will cover it completely.) The pharmacist told me three times to make sure I take an epi-pen in with me when I get the first shot, in case I have an allergic reaction to it.

@wolfgirl569 I know. I looked it up online and there can be some bad side effects. I'm really hoping it will stop my eyes from swelling closed, though. (The pharmacist said it could take anywhere from a month up to a year to work fully. )

@yoalldudes No. I have an autoimmune disease. My body fights itself. I have rashes, get hives and my eyes swell closed for up to a week at a time. No other meds have helped. Hopefully, this one will.

I noticed the onions immediately in your picture. I thought that perhaps they were winter onions, we grew those once, my hubby loved them.

I am sorry to hear about your cousin. I tried walking onions too, but I have had to stop growing onions, leeks and related things because of problems with an invasive pest, allium leaf miner.

Thanks. Sorry you cant grow them. I spray with soapy water when I have pests. That gets many of them.

@Fleura Just sit a routine for washing the plants. That can still help get them before they can get very far. Look up the time they need to hatch to set your schedule. It would be worth trying.

@wolfgirl569 These ones are too hidden away, they lay an egg inside the leaf tissue and when it hatches the larva slowly munches its way down inside until it reaches the bulb. The damage it causes allows other pathogens such as bacteria in which then cause decay. It's a real nuisance.

@LadyDuck The ones in the swimming pool on the stump went through those heavy freezes we had and came back. They are very hardy. Yep, bad bad bad kitty. She is still pouting about being outside. But starting to explore more.

Especially when its the one that usually holds others while they do. We were fairly close when in school so I felt it more from him for that reason also. Hubby says they taste just like green onions but they are perennial. Plus reseed themselves easily also. That Ghost kitty. The one who wont use a litter box.
