We moved about an hour away from where we live before. Closer to my daughter's work. However for me it is not in walking distance for me to go to any stores like I did before. There is more square footage in this apartment and divided up better.. We have two bedrooms and two bathrooms compared to one and one at the other place. Plus it is open concept! No wall where I can't see what the grandkids are doing while I am cooking. However, there is much less storage space. Less kitchen cabinets, the closet in the front is smaller as well as my bedroom. There is no storage closet off the patio either. So we have to get a storage unit. The playground here is better than at the other place. People in this area are a lot nicer and friendly.

This is the reason why I did not want an open space house, I like a lot of cabinets where to store my things.

I have seen that you can still have open space and a lot of cabinets. I like open space so I can watch the kids while I am cooking or doing dishes.

@dfollin I never liked open space, I like to have my kitchen well separated by the rest of the home and with a door.

@LadyDuck I used to think I didn't like open space, and if I had a choice and could build my own home to my own choices, I would probably separate them. But I have no choice, I live in a small home with an open concept kitchen and living area. It works and I do have more cabinets than a lot of people do, so I am not complaining.

I guess you will have to get used to having less closets.

@marlina The neighbors are nice. But I don't live near much and don't have a car. The apartment is better having 2 bathrooms and an open concept kitchen. But I found out we were missinformed when we first looked at the place the square footage is not is not as big as we were told. We were also told that we would have a much bigger closet in the living room and the patio is very small and no way to exit it unless I climb up and go over it into some bushes, lol. And the stairs going to the apartments on the upper levels are right next to the front door and we hear noise alot.

That's a lot to get used to... I'm sure you'll manage it, though.

Some aspects are nicer, but yes these closets are not good at all.
