As I said in my last post, we made the decision to enroll our kid in a driving school. Anyone requesting a driver's license must now be certified by an approved driving school.
Since my dad is now living elsewhere with his partner and they already have a car, my father has given his old vehicle to us. I plan to give this to my son who will use this when their face-to-face classes begins and once, he is able to obtain a driver's license. Hopefully, this will simplify his travel from home to school.

Having a Car available during training session will be good add on for your son. As now your kid and practice points told in class and you can also add few pointers for him
Here when I learnt Driving, I had no Car to practice it. The day I bought it, by that time I forgot everything what was taught at Driving Class

@sjvg1976 You know how Dad's are. You join the class learning any thing doesn't go waste , And he added by the time class ends we will have a new car . And that statement took 5 years to come true
Forgot to add - He asked me to buy it on Loan
@rsa101 Correct That will help him Good luck to him and don't let touch your car after his first 3 sessions He will be highly motivated with no actual information

@ketinaharriet yes and having certified by a school would be an added assurance that you know the rules of reponsible driving.

I think it is good to take driving school before getting a drivers license because the person will get an idea on how it is to be driving and learn about rules of the street

In our country, obtaining drivers' license is very expensive but people who need it don't care because they need the license.

My youngest sister is preparing for driving exam watching videos online and she is looking for a driving school too. Good to know your son can drive on his own

@averygirl72 Yes, and I believe it's for the better since, as you can see in the news, many people who have driving licenses are just too careless and ignorant of traffic laws.

That was before. I too did learn how to drive that way too. But at present, I think it is needed already so that everyone would get to be familiarized with the road safety information that we have here in the Philippines. I also tried to read the book provided by the school and there are lot of info that I learned from there.

@yoalldudes Getting driving lessons is advised if you own a car, but if you sign up and don't use them, it's possible that you'll forget what you learned.

I think that minimum skill standards do make for safer roads so new drivers should be tested

I think that's a great idea to send everyone to driving school. I see a great many drivers out there who still need to go.
Your son will be happy.
