Your Machine Is Broken

On my last trip to get yet another lottery ticket, for whatever that is worth—dreams, dreams, dreams—I seemed to get a dry stare from the guy behind the counter who took my order. Clearly he did not appreciate my humor, nor did his brain immediately catch my drift. It happens. Not everyone is so fast on their feet of course. "I'll take a Powerball and MegaMillions, please," I told him. "Do you want the extras?" "No, just regular play." He printed off my tickets and I handed him the required $4 and as I was ready to turn and head out the door I told him to have the repair man fix his broken lottery machine. He blinked. "It's...not broken. It's working." "But it keeps printing the wrong numbers," I told him. He did not get the joke at all. He just shrugged and I snickered and walked out the door... With my presumably new losing lottery tickets.

Clearly he doesn’t have a sense of humor! You might want to call the state lottery office and let them know their machine is broken, since the guy at the store obviously has no idea it’s broken, or how to fix it.

@porwest If it happens, shoot me over a little of your winnings. I’m not greedy, whatever little bit you can send will be received graciously.

I can see the headlines now, "Man wins major jackpot at the Casey's after signaling a broken lottery machine. Suddenly everyone's a winner and the town rejoices." It could happen, you know.

There's a reason I don't waste my money on lottery tickets. I hope you enjoy the anticipation before you find out they're not winning tickets.

@much2say Not that time. But I'd like to think that my numbers are coming even if that is probably an entirely ridiculous thought. lol

Are you extending your appearance at the comedy club? Actually I thought that was funny.

It's tempting to bet on lottery for there are millions of money to win if you’re lucky. But yet it's a game of chance or lucky. I never dare to spend my money for such game.

@Nakitakona Here it is a drop in the bucket. Our household is a six-figure income household, which is not uncommon here.

Why do you fear it? I mean, maybe in Kenya it is conducted less than above board but here in the U.S. it is extremely regulated.

Yeah, he was a real genius it would seem. I am sure he had a Mensa meeting to attend after he got off work.

I figure it's only two bucks, I probably won't win, but someone has to, and I only can if I have a ticket.

Good luck! I hope you win big. But at the very least I hope you at least win $4 so you break even. Can't believe the guy didn't get the joke.

I would imagine in Kenya there are probably too many crooks handling it for it to be worth anything to anyone other than the crooks.
