Almost time to pick up groceries

United States

I placed an order for groceries that I needed. I am certain I forgot a few things. The convenience of placing an order and having it ready at a certain time is great. Because it is the beginning of a new month and also a holiday weekend I wasn’t sure I could pick the order up today. The time slots go quick. Fortunately there was a slot available 1-2 this afternoon. They will send a text if they are out of something or if they substituted an item. They give you the option of denying the product if it is not to your liking. The good side of that is if the item you ordered costs less than the substitution they give it to you for the price if what you ordered. While I wait I can get done housework done. This is one of the perks of online ordering!

I have been ordering online for pick up also. Such a time saver!! I have only had a few complaints in the past year of doing so. I had tomatoes once that looked like someone played baseball with them and bananas that were too ripe. I like them slightly green, but these were turning brown.

I’ve never been given spotty bananas. Tomatoes and watermelon are a problem sometimes.

@ElusiveButterfly I agree on the tomatoes. I've never had them select a watermelon for me, so no comment on that one!

I would love to be able to order grocery online, this is not something we have available here in my little city.

I had my order all ready, set it up for delivery last night and it was delivered this morning at about 9a. I get the same services as you listed. My daughter used to have to carry it all home in the basket. In the heat of the day it is exhausting so I started having it delivered.

We live 15 minutes from all 4 grocery stores in our town. We cannot get a delivery.

I order groceries online once a month that is the best I can do when my SS arrives and I get them delivered straight to my house, I have no choice because I cannot get to a supermarket but every time I order I have to see what the shopper is doing online and I am beginning to had the big delivery fees they charge,

Delivery to my home is not an option. I do like ordering online and picking the order up at the store.

I have never done this. I just stomp over to the store and let fate do its best for me.

I will venture into a store. I usually wait for a time when I know it won’t be busy.

I would have a hard time purchasing fresh produce that way. I've been hard pressed to find decent strawberries (if any at all) at my store lately. I would be furious to order groceries and get moldy or mushy produce. I did attempt to order from our store for delivery. The next date was 3 days away. Forget that. I'll just go to the store or if I forget something I get someone else in my household to pick it up.

I had a watermelon that had a huge soft spot on it. I called the store and they credited my card and told me to toss it out.

That does make it handy. I like to walk around the grocery store, but I am saving an option like pick up for someday when the weather is bad or I don't want to deal with it.

The shoppers do an excellent job of picking the groceries. If I have more than one store to shop at I’ll use the pick up option too. Saves me time.

I love the convenience of picking up too. We did our big shopping last weekend as we figured it would be busy this weekend with the holiday, etc. You were lucky to find a time slot today.

Surprised me that I could get it in the same day.
