Fireworks Tonight

Today is the Fourth of July and almost sunset. I’m sitting on my deck and I can hear the beginning of fireworks . It must be rockets. They are loud and deafening. There’s a school about a mile away where they have fireworks every year. I also hear firecrackers and popping sounds. Sounds like people cheering. I hope all of you are enjoying this special day.

I've been hearing them since about ten this morning. Can't hear much from our hotel room, but I won't really complain. We'll be going downstairs for the big show tonight.

We went to a friends house for a cookout. It was so nice to sit and visit while we enjoyed our meal. They invite us over often and we always have a good time. At about 8:30 we headed to find a spot to park so we could watch the fireworks. Every spot close enough with a good view was packed. We finally followed our friends to a place directly across from the venue. We were truly lucky to get a spot that close. We walked across the street and sat at the top of the hill just as the show began. I was tired and cold so it didn’t have the usual thrill from the display. But the kids really enjoyed it so that’s all that matters.

@RubyHawk there will be fireworks on the 30th at an event in my little town. I tell everyone that they are for my 65th birthday which is the 30th.

It’s not my pool personally. It’s the apartment complex pool. We have two pools but neither is open this summer.

We went to Canada Day fireworks on the first, it was an organized display over a lake and it was beautiful.

@RubyHawk Yes, between the reflection and the illusion of the great wide space between the water and the sky makes it a better place to hold them. And it is so much safer.

Is this picture your backyard? If so it's gorgeous. Here families start using their fireworks about a week before the fourth which is okay except when they do it late at night when we're trying to sleep. I was supposed to work that day but found someone to switch with so I could spend time with my siblings and their kids and grandkids while a niece was visiting from our of state. I had a really nice time.

It’s one of the complex pools. It looks inviting but both our pools are closed. It’s nice you could be with family for the fourth. Glad you enjoyed it.

The only firework displays we have in Australia are those put on for the general public. The sale of fireworks is banned here. I hope your 4th of July went well.

I think some states are banned from using private fireworks. It was banned here for awhile and might still be. They were legal when our kids were growing up.

Our neighbors set theirs off until 1-2 AM. We weren't too upset until it continued after midnight. They should have been more considerate of the neighbors. They shot more off on the 5th but not as late.

Monday night was much quieter than Saturday night. Saturday night the fireworks rattled the windows.

I’m still hearing loud noises. Probably those colorful rockets they shoot off. I can’t see anything for trees.

Fireworks went on for awhile at the school and I heard a few loud pops here. I didn’t see any fireworks.
