Can you be sued for an opinion in your country? Why?

Can anyone be sued when they publish an opinion in your country? I mean they have published or expressed their negative opinion of someone on their website for everyone in the world to read. I know every country may have their own rules, but at least in my country, I can express my opinion openly on my blog. When is a published article considered to be libel? Why is it considered libel or defamation? Even if you're not a lawyer, what's your opinion about this topic? Thank you in advance.

Although I'm not a lawyer, I believe that anything you publish should be supported by facts so that, in the event that you are sued, you will have supporting data. Libel, in my opinion, occurs when you publish something that you cannot defend or that harms the reputation of the subject of your criticism.

@Jenaisle I believe different countries will have different policies about it and the penalties may differ from country to country.

Be careful. 2021 Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Ressa, CEO of Rappler, was arrested and is due to stand trial for cyberlibel. She is facing life in prison in your country.

@JimBo452020 she attended and graduated from the high school that I work at. (and went to myself) In May she visited for the dedication of the newly renovated auditorium named for her. She was wonderful! Her speech starts at 22 minutes into the video.

You can use someone for slander in your name if it’s not try and you can prove it but if it’s just an option on a topic not and individual or a company then you see certain find and can stay your feelings. Like chick-fa-la isn’t going to sue you if you say I don’t support them because they don’t suppose LGBTQ community because they are Christian base and don’t believe in that stuff. They don’t take it personal and will ignore it.

In my country,if you dare to speak the truth about the darkside of China and Communist Party, you'll go to jail.Meantime,if you dare to speak any dissidences that CCP doesn't like, you'll go to jail too,for example,Spreading the Christianism in Public or Organizing a parade for protecting the woman rights etc.

Even Christianism? I think that's extreme. So what's the approved religion in China?

@Jenaisle there's no approved religion in China, because Communists believe in atheism, you can't doubt their ideology. Surely,In China,it has Buddhism,Christianism and Islam, but these religions are all fake, they never obey the rule of the God,they only obey the rule of Communist Party.Communist Supreme Leader is their only God.

Sometimes we write which can be illegible. A few days back we had a controversy. You may be knowing about the famous case of "Nupur Sharma" which became a global issue for debate.
