My Sweepstakes Wins

United States
July 9, 2022 12:32am CST
I mentioned on another post that I was entering sweepstakes and contests again, and that I have done it before and won some fun stuff. People had asked what I won, so I will write a list of all I can remember. I did this about 10 or 12 years ago. I spent about 1 hour per day entering sweepstakes online. I did it for about 3 months every day, and then only when I had time for another month or two. So here is what I won that year: A $100 Visa gift card to be used anywhere A Samuel Adams Sun Umbrella with a stand (I sold it at a yard sale) A company-sponsored t-shirt (I don't remember which company) A fleece blanket with a company logo on it (don't remember the company) A $400 gift certificate to a local hair salon A coupon for a free candy bar A box filled with 4 different UNO card games A booklet of 26 coupons for a free family-sized Stouffer's frozen meal A baseball cap with a company logo on it (don't remember the company) A water bottle with a company logo on it (don't remember the company) And I think there were also some incidentals like small prizes I don't really remember. Sometimes the companies wouldn't tell me in advance and things would just show up at my door. That was a LOT of fun. On June 17th this year, I started entering contests and sweepstakes again. I spend 45 minutes to 1 hour doing it every day, or every other day. In case you were thinking it's a waste of time, I usually do it when I am in the living room with my husband and he is watching TV programs I have no interest in (he likes true murder or mystery stories, engineering shows, shows about smugglers, etc). So I am able to be with my husband in the same room, but do something I enjoy while he does something he enjoys. So far in the past few weeks I have won: 1 coupon for a free salad bar at Ruby Tuesdays 1 coupon for a free chicken sandwich at Ruby Tuesdays 1 Fanny Pack (Bum Bag for those of you in Australia!) from Pure Leaf tea Do you think entering sweepstakes and contests is worth the time?

Wow, that is a lot of stuff. I don't even know where to go to do this, but it looks as if it's worth it.

@misunderstood_zombie Okay, good luck. It's fun to enter and dream about what you might win. If you live near Ruby Tuesdays you might want to try the Instant Win Game...they are giving out lots of wins for free food.

Oh, I do. I won a trip to the 2000 Olympics in Australia with a side trip to New Zealand 22 years ago. I haven't entered contests in years, but back then it proved to be worth it.

Congrats, you are lucky. For me may be the lack of time or interest in trying my hands on sweepstakes, but it sounds good those little winnings counts.

@akanetuk I consider myself "blessed" since I don't believe in luck, but I do believe in blessings.

Just like with doing surveys, it can pay off. I have not done it in years. Never consistent enough to win.

Yes, it does help to be consistent. I took a break from it today though. My brain was shot so I took a "vacation day!" Ha ha!

Good haul, which site do you go to to enter these? How much time per day did you spend entering?

@snowy22315 I use a site called Sweeties Sweeps. She does a good job of finding new sweepstakes daily and has them all laid out by those you can enter daily weekly, monthly, or just one entry only. I spend 45 minutes to 1 hour a day, but some days I skip if I am really busy.

@kouponkaren I won a free holiday to Spain once, but it was from London so I’d have had to get myself to London and back, and no meals were included etc so I passed.

@xFiacre Oh yes, I can see why that would be complicated and costly possibly as well?

Good for you. I don't know if we have such competitions here. Perhaps we do. We seem to have most of the other things that you do.

Are you able to use them all?

@merrybelle2021 I use as much of it as I can and whatever I don't use, I give away as gifts (like the 4 Uno card games were given away as Christmas gifts). And now I am adopting soldiers from Soldiers Angels so if I win hats or T-shirts and don't want them I can always send them to the soldiers.
