Wow it’s only Thursday!!!!

I woke at 3:30 on Monday to the sound of my husband’s alarm not once but 3 times. I managed to doze off each time. My phone went off at 4, it was my niece. She was freaking out as she told me that her trailer was on fire. I had my niece bring her daughter here. I’ll let her sleep in my bed and I settled into the recliner. Couldn’t fall asleep to save my soul. Fortunately I was able to fall asleep an hour later. My niece came back at 8:00. I had given the girls breakfast and gave my great niece some clothes to change into. The trailer was a total loss. I asked people on Facebook to help out with clothes and monetary donations. A friend I met on Mylot donated as did another friend that I had met on Gather many years ago. Others donated clothes, toys, gift cards and food. I am grateful for the outpouring of love and so is my niece. Had to find someone to feed mom her lunch yesterday. My sister took the day off from work to help out. Now if I can catch my breath and relax I’ll be okay. Helping out is a good thing, but can be tiring.

I am so sorry, what a horrible accident. Is she insured? I hope she can get some money and it's not a total loss.

Unfortunately she didn’t have insurance. She had health issues that kept her out of work for a while. Now she only works part-time.

@BelleStarr she is muddling along. Trying to get her to leave it behind but she insists on going into the home to try to find treasures. Can’t say as I blame her. But I keep telling her that she has the best treasure and that is life. Both she and her daughter are safe.

That is such bad news. Does your niece have somewhere to go now her trailer has burnt? She must be quite traumatised.

She is traumatized. Her friends are letting her stay with them. Wish I could have her stay here but our place is cramped with just the 3 of us.
