I usually love food programs. I love thinking how I would do this and that and how I would change something if I don´t have an ingredient.
But what I like more is to see how plates are presented. I have never had that talent. Sometimes it is a tiny bit of a sauce, sometimes it is a parsley leaf or a basil leaf.
But today I will not watch any. My lunch is ready in my head. In half an hour I´ll go to put to boil new potatoes. I don´t use the microwave over for that (or for many things for that matter). And the pork chop is finally thawed.
I could steam some tender green beans for the green touch.
And I want to mahe some sweet rice with milk for a dessert.
What will you eat today?

@thislittlepennyearns I mash my own potatoes. But I have found that part of it depends on the potatoes and we can´t know.

@marguicha today's mashed potatoes didn't turn out quite as good as I had hoped. But they were still decent t.

I took an off day from the kitchen today. We had few things to finish in the first half of the day. Had our lunch outside. And for dinner, we managed with few leftovers from yesterday. I kept my day lazy and slow.

@arunima25 Everyone needs it. On Wednesday, my eldest daughter will come for a visit. I´ll cook rice the day before. It heats well in the microwave. And I´ll roast a whole chicken. Easy.

@marguicha I have decided that I would keep my weekends easy and slow and catch up with the rest and family time.
. Trying to get all chores and errands done in the week after work time. I need a good weekend to rejuvenate. So, I try to do some extra cooking and meal preparations on Friday night itself

I know. I usually like to watch them. But now, and until I finish with the antibiotic, I´m eating healthy.

@marguicha Sometimes, it seems to be good in my end to watch cooking shows but sometimes I'm not even interested to stay tune in a minute. I immediately change the channel.

I also like to see how dishes are presented. I think a cook has to have an artistic nack as well as a cooking one.

Sweet rice with Milk - Is it something similar to what we cal as "Kheer" here?
No firm eating plans but may be Bread with or without Green Tea could be an option.

Slightly different but somewhat similar as well. In India, Saffron and Cardamom are preferred in a similar preparation.

I don´t know. I boil the rice in water with cinnamon sticks and cloves. After it is cooked I add sugar and milk and let the milk evaporate until it is a cream. It is served with ground cinnamon.

I bought a whole chicken last week and thought I´d roast it for the weekend. But my daughter is coming from the south and she will help me buy the air tickets. So it is better if I take it out to roast it while we are working on it. For that same reason I´ll do rice the day before. Rice is one of the food that heats well in the microwave oven

I love stuffed mushrooms although I don´t make them often. I stuff them with blue cheese and place them in the oven.

@marguicha These were stuffed with bread crumbs and cheese (not blue cheese). I don't like the strong tasting cheeses.

I love channels that show food in other countries, especially in the preparation of meals, organic plantations, harvesting on planted land. I've seen Japanese, Turkish, Chinese, Korean food. I was fascinated with Korean and Japanese food. It all feels so light and natural.

I like it once in a while. Specially those show where very small children cook in such a way I could never do it.
