You know, 1972 doesn’t seem to be that far back. Half a century. Fifty years. Ouch. When you have great music from that time, though, it doesn’t hurt so bad. Here’s another song from 1972 that you might hear today on classic rock stations! Stay With Me - Faces Here’s an interesting factoid: the band started as the Small Faces because all the members were short. Rod Stewart had a huge hit with “Maggie May” in 1971, so at the end of 1971/start of 1972 this Faces tune was released as a single. It promptly became Faces’ biggest hit and helped propel Stewart to superstardom. I heard this on a restaurant radio station the other day. It still sounds as good as Rita’s perfume smells. Stay With Me Written by Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood Recorded by Faces From A Nod Is As Good as a Wink….to a Blind Horse, 1971 (Today’s 1982 song: “Senses Working Overtime”) Sit down, get up, get down:

@FourWalls This is the version I know. I'm confused though. Isn't that the guitar player from Rolling Stones?

I always think of Rod Stewart as having a gravelly voice.

He definitely does. It’s distinctive, that’s for certain.

I remember the story that Rod Stewart was a member of the singing group called The Faces before he gained success as a solo artist. I did not that the members of the Faces were short in terms of height.

It’s amazing to read how some of these groups got their names, isn’t it.

Hmm. Not striking familiarity with me and I thought I had heard all of Rod Stewart's songs. Not playlist worthy either but definitely new to me.

Technically, it’s Faces, so you’re still good on the Stewart songs.
