It is said to have been what killed the famous explorer Juan Ponce de Leon. It can poison you with its sap, choke you with its fruit, and even blind you with its smoke. Don't even smell the air around this tree. It has gone down in the book of Guinness World Records as the world's most dangerous tree.
The Manchineel tree is native to Central America, the Caribbean and Florida.
Have you ever seen or been close to one?

Yes, it doesn't look very unique, just like a normal tree.

@celticeagle It does look like a regular tree. I doubt that we have those trees in Georgia. Do they even grow in the US?

I've never seen one in person but have read quite a bit about them and watched a SciShow video about them not too long ago. They don't sound friendly, at all.

@celticeagle I corrected the answer right now since I did not about the Manchineel tree before. I did it again by not double checking my answers.

Oh, no! Something else that is deadly in Florida. I've never seen one that I know of when we've been in Florida. I wonder if this is an invasive species?

. And I'll bet in this climate change, this tree is doing particularly well.
