Gratitude

I have been busy and not paying attention much to the yard. Waiting for rain that did not come.
It hit me last night that the birdbath was dry, and also that the places wild things usually find water are likely dry as well.
When it was light this morning I rinsed and filled the birdbath, and watered my plants. I filled some pots so my kitties and others can have an extra outdoor drink.
I left, hubby got up and went outside to soak up sun and drink some V8.
Less than an hour after I watered, there was a pair of hummingbirds, sipping water from drippy branches.
The like the orange daylilies as well.
They showed their gratitude and I was reminded to take care of the living things when the weather is totally unpleasant. You can bet I will keep it up.

Good for you! When it's dry...it's dry everywhere. How delightful that you got to see two hummingbirds. I love them. Stay cool and stay hydrated!

How diligent you are taking care of almost everything. Even the birds could drink from dripping water.

I always kept the birdbaths and stock troughs full of water in the summer time.

I need to wash out our bird bath and fill it back up, and the feeders as well. It is nice when they show their appreciation.

Here in my country always raining. Actually, I have a headache because of this weather anomalies. In the morning, been gloomy from 6am to 7am. Then it became hotter and hotter from 7am to 1pm. Then at the start of 1pm up to 2pm it will be back to gloomy and starting at 2pm in which until now, it's raining outside.

I love my water gardens and many of the animals around do too. I know the deer uses Georges trough to get a drink at times too.
