This morning I washed 6 pieces clothes of mine. They were just very few so I hand-washed. I washed them very early in the morning 5:45.I used lukewarm water for we had whole evening rain so water was somewhat cooler. It's too early because at 7 in the morning, I have to go to Mercury drug store to buy coffee and bread. After washing my clothes, I applied Downy Fabric conditioner to have nice smell of my clothes. They're clothes I wear at home. Before I left, clothes were already hanged.I'm so early to go to store because at 7 it's already very hot. I also dropped by in the market to buy 2 kilos fish, 1 kilo garlic, 1 kilo tomatoes, 1 kilo cabbage, 1 killo bell pepper, 1 kilo onions and 2 kilos ripe bananas. They were heavy, but I hired someone to carry them home. It's just a walking distance more or less 10 minutes walk. When I reached home, I checked the clothes I hanged and was so terrified when saw all my clothes rampaged ot stuck by numerous flies. The flies seem like sipping my still wet clothes. So I washed them back with boiling water. May I know if you had applied Downy fabric conditioner to your clothes and experienced the same. I plan to report this matter to the Department of health to sue Downy manufacturer. Image shown mine. I shot the fabric conditioner named Downy

That's weird! Downy usually repels insects! I wonder if the flies were so thirsty they were sucking the water out of your clothes? If we go where insects are bad, we carry Downy fabric softener sheets with us so the insects stay away!

@DaddyEvil, it's the first time to experience like this after I changed the brand. It's so scary. My sister told me that she experienced it 2 years ago using the same brand. She forgot to remind me. I don't know the contents, I'll check later why flies glued to my clothes.

@jstory07, I didn't use our washing machine for my clothes were very few and it's sun shines brightly. Sunshine can save current.

@sica98, I only washed 3 underwears, 1 bra, 1 shorts and 1 thin t-shirt. It's impractical to use a washing machine with dryer it's so hot in Philippines.

I guess the flies like the nice scent too ? I don't dry the clothes outside, so this has never happened to us. I throw them in the dryer with no scented wool balls.

@cacay1 I tell you, people are spoiled here and will throw everything in the dryer - I rarely see clotheslines even though we live in a hot area too. But sometimes I will put things on a hanger and put it on our trees to dry .

I do not use fabric conditioner, as my husband is allergic. May be the fragrance attracts the flies.

@cacay1 This is the reason why I do not use, my husband is allergic to strong scent and also the residual left on the fabric.

That is weird that Downy caught the attention of the flies. It should shoo them away. You bought huge amount of vegetables and spices.

I also use Downy but the blue variant, I think it is sunrise fresh. I don't think the flies here like that scent because they don't come near my clothes, or maybe it is almost dry when I hang them. I use spin dryer...
