Fire Extinguisher, Do You Have One?

Having a fire extinguisher is really a must and many may realise it when it's almost to late. My wife clicked the fan button and the lights went off the very next second and there seemed to be blast sound from the outside. We thought there was a power transformer malfunction that must have caused the lights go off, but that wasn't the truth. Because a few minutes later smoke and plastic burning smell started to come in. We rushed down the stairs to check and for our shock there was fire in the meter box. We called in others to help in and if they had a fire extinguisher, but unfortunately no-one in the premises had a fire extinguisher. Finally we threw in mud from around with the help with others and was successful in extinguishing the fire. Today we realised one thing that having a fire extinguisher is such must because you never know when and where you might need it. Image Credit:- Google.

Hey Nitin! Long time, no see! (I hope you and your wife are both okay, otherwise!) I'm glad you and your neighbors got the fire put out and nobody got hurt. When you buy your fire extinguisher, make sure you buy one that can handle the type of fire you think you might have. Not all types are safe for putting out an electrical fire.

@nitirrbb7 Oh, good, I'm glad you're both well. We're doing fine. I'm getting shots to help with the allergies now. They are supposed to help, anyway. Still waiting for them to do that.

I think we have two. I know there's one in the kitchen, and I want to think my husband keeps one in our van. I am not sure I'll have to ask him about that.

@nitirrbb7 Yes, I know and understand. One of those, better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.

Good you have them at the right places, just make sure you have it in your van too, I wish you never encounter anything that will need the use of it but just a precaution.

Fire extinguisher should be needed in every household also but honestly, I don't have it due to financial issues. We just take necessary safety procedure just letting each one of us on how to use our things that might be cause fire.

I can understand dear Luis and that's really good that you take adequate measures to keep away from trouble but there are times we can't predict or avoid. Even I am not that well settled in life but when it comes to life then no compromise. Try to get a small one, you and your family are more precious

They should have worked on it but no worries atleast they had them nevertheless like us realising it when we encountered the incident. Stay safe, wish you never come across any that you might need a fire extinguisher.

Yes, we have one just in case something like that ever happens. Fortunately, our house is wired directly to the fire station nearby and the police station. I’m so sorry you had to go through that fright.
