New week, new month.. some chit chat.

Good afternoon from this side of the planet . It's 12:12 PM here and I am back from my work. It was a good easy going day at work. So, the week started well . And it's the beginning of the new month too. Hope we all have a good one I love it when the new month starts on Monday. Things seem more sorted out when first day of month falls on the first day of the week. And as August comes, it has a vibe of entering in to the later half of the year. We will be entering "ber" months from next month. And that means that Christmas is near and so is another year. Time flies. The countdown for my elder daughter leaving for college and hostel in far away city begins. Having mixed feelings about that. She leaves on 19th of the month. Weekend went good. It was mostly relaxed except for a two hours online workshop that I had to attend on Saturday. We see quite a few holidays in this month. We have a mid week holiday coming next week on account of Muharram and then a long weekend as 15th August is our Independence day Missed the payout this month as I could not be much active here in July. But I have crossed the mid way mark and so have a good start to this month. Wishing you all a good week and a good month Cheer up!! Will move to reading and responding till the rice gets ready in the rice cooker for lunch

It's always bittersweet when the babies start to fledge. I remember when Pretty went away for college. I didn't know what to do with myself for weeks afterwards. (I kept thinking I needed to get her lunch ready or remind her about something. It's different when all you can do is call and talk to them instead of seeing them in person every day.) And whose fault is that for not being here talking with me so much this month? Yeah, it's always nice that we get extra when we have something to start off the new month in our account. Yucky! Rice again?

@arunima25 Doesn't your family get tired of lady fingers? Yeah, life happens to all of us at times, so less participation on myLot just happens... It can't be easy starting a new school year. I'm looking forward to you being here more after things settle in. Yeah, "adjusted" but not happy about it.

Yes, rice again . We have it at least thrice in a week. It's one of our staple diets. And today I have made another of your favourite..ladies for Well, not sure whom to blame for the less interactions here. I was busy with life for good reasons and so I can't blame anything. Happy the way the month went. I hope to be more active here from September once everything is a bit of settled. And you are right about the bittersweet experience. I am sure that it's going to be tough initially but soon we will get adjusted to it.

@DaddyEvil Nope, never. ]We have so many different preparation varieties. And it's a favourite of everyone, including my niece who just moved in with us. Hmm...we have to move on. This is one big milestone in our lives. Happy for her.

I am sure that you will be busy finishing the preparations for your daughter to leave for school. It is such a special but emotionally difficult time, I wish you well. Our son attended a university that was 4 hours away, and it was so hard that first year that we took him there. He surprised us many times by wanting to come home for weekends during that year. It helped us all adjust to this new phase in our lives.

It is pretty busy here with all the preparation. It's actually a bittersweet experience. Well, she has got into a prestigious design school in the country and also on Global level. I wish it was nearby and she could visit us on weekends. But it is very far in the other state and it takes a whole day of journey including the road and air travel. And the travel would be expensive too. So, it's so that we would see her only a couple of times in a year for long vacations. Well, we are happy to see that she has got into the best college and is getting closer to her dreams in the life. We will soon get adjusted to the new phase of our life.

Yes, this year independence day celebration would be extra special with 75 years and Azaadi ka Amrit utsav. Hope you are doing good health wise. And the baby is also doing good. Earnings will pick up once you are regular and active. Right now you need to take care of your health and spend some good time with your family.

@RebeccasFarm Hmm... every parent would want that but then it's not healthy for anyone. They have to leave the nest after they learn to fly How about your shifting? Is all done or are you still in the process?

Even I love "ber" months. Festive mood and celebrations set in. I know that you are looking forward to the move. So, you want time to fly. It's other way round here. I know once she leaves for college, she is all set to step into independent adult life. I want the days to stand still and moments to freeze. Empty nest syndrome has started setting in.

Winters at your place can be cruel. And I guess that it stays too long there. Enjoy the fall. It might get over soon. We hope for the same. Since she is going into a course of her choice and a college that she wanted, we hope that she would love it and enjoy the four years of stay there.

Yes the festive seasons begin. Yet that also means some more expenses here and there. This time, Rakshabandhan is on 12th but the declared Schools and Official Holidays are on 11th August so that implies a leave on 12th. Yet I already had to take two leaves recently. So it would be a tough decision. I have had a mixed start to August, which I might tell in more detail may be in a future post. Yet a big headache of a big pending matter seems to have ended and that could be a big relief. Some challenges personally and for the whole team at the workplace but opportunities can also be there. Rains finally seem to pick up. If there is a hot and humid day, rains also come sooner or later. Have a nice Dinner and a nice sleep!

Here in South India, there is no holiday for raksha bandhan. So, our mornings on that day becomes rushed one with all cooking, pooja and the ceremony before leaving for work. So, what's your plan for raksha bandhan? Are you close to your sister to visit her? Glad that you have some relief. August has started well but too hectic. Good that it has got a couple of long weekends to help me with all the work on personal front. And then I am taking a week off to drop my elder one to hostel.

Happy August! time is flying and before we know it we'll all be talking about the holidays. I made payout by the skin of my teeth as I also didn't spend as much time here as i usually do. You'll have a nice star for the next payout. Hope you have a great day

Time flies. And once August is over, we feel like getting closer to the end of the year. It's a bittersweet experience. I am happy for her achievements and proud that she is into the most prestigious college. But then it is quite far from our place and I would not be seeing her in person so frequently.

August was a happening month in offline life. My daughter got into college and started a new journey. Younger daughter got into a good pre University college. The renovation work has finally started at my home. Health was not so good and I am still not that energetic. It was a slow month online.

Anything goes when it comes to what day of the week starts a new month and at what time I start doing something even if it is for example the 13th and I do something at 2 in the afternoon. And this attitude helps me somewhat.
