My son wanted to do look at a desk as he is setting up a new home work station. We went to the store and we were checking out the desks, and all of a sudden he had to sit down. He got white and shaky and hot, somehow I got him to the car with the help of a nice store worker and flew to the ER. They came out and plopped him in a wheelchair and took him back. I went through the info and all the red tape and here we are. It’s 1am. We are waiting on labs and tests. So if you have a spare minute, please wish upon a star for him that this goes well. I’m so frazzled out, he just hasn’t been well at all. I find myself thinking of some kind of vacation but that’s just not possible right now…I think I’m just tired to the bone. . Thanks for listening to me moan and groan.

We didn't get out of there until so, so late. But after he had a double iron infusion, they let him come home. They said his iron was so low he could hardly move. That's happened before, but since we take him for iron infusions on a regular basis, we were surprised on this nosedive. He will go back on Friday to get rechecked and hopefully it will be ok for now. We never lose hope over here. Thank you.

@MarieCoyle Hmmm yes you need to get that checked cause he may be bleeding somewhere unknown if his iron is dipping like that. I wish you well and will keep you in my prayers.

Thank you so much. We were there for hours. He gets regular iron infusions as well as blood transfusions from time to time due to an intestinal bleed. Sure enough, that was it, his iron had dived way down. He just went for his regular infusion, but they gave him another double one, so hopefully that will help him. I did get to bring him home for now. Things just don't seem to ever be boring over here, LOL.

He seemed better Friday and Saturday, fairly washed out yesterday, and today he seems better again. Like I've said, it sure isn't boring over here...he goes to the dr. on Wednesday. Thanks for asking.

I'm keeping you and your son in my thoughts. Something like that happens to me if my blood pressure suddenly drops for no apparent reason. Usually, if I sit still or lie down for twenty minutes or so, I'll start getting my color back and start feeling better. It used to happen every two or three months while at work at Walmart. The doctors still haven't figured out why it happens. (It happened a couple of weeks ago while Pretty and I were shopping in Walmart, picking up groceries. I went out to the car and laid down on the seat. I was stating to feel better by the time Pretty finished shopping and paying for the groceries.)

@MarieCoyle I understand. I'm not that tall but currently weigh more than that. People ask me the same thing... When told it's a blood pressure problem, they ask why don't I see a doctor and get it "fixed". If the doctors could "fix" it, I would have done that.

Yes, his BP will get erratic, then he gets very faint and weak. No warning. Usually right after the iron infusions he perks up a bit, but the last one didn't seem to do that. So last night he got double infusions. We got out of there about dawn....had to get my car out of a scary parking garage, and load him up and take him home. We don't get too bored over here! I hope you are doing better?

@MarieCoyle , it could be cured. There is iron supplement and right vegetables for iron deficiency.

@cacay1 His current diet is very high in good vegetables and iron supplements. They are not enough in his case. That's why he has to have infusions.

Thank you. It's more than stress, his body is not making enough iron.

I am so sorry this happened again. I read that some people cannot absorb iron - so eating iron rich foods might not help. It would be helpful if there was an instrument , one you could have at home to measure when his iron levels are dangerously low.

There is a reason my hair turned white so fast. But it's only hair. It's hard to watch and to know that as a parent we just can't always fix things like we wish we could. Thank you, Kandase.

I hope all is well and it's nothing major. Sometimes I get like that when shopping too I don't know if it's anxiety or what but it doesn't happen too oftten.

@MarieCoyle That's weird, hopefully they can figure it out and have it so he can manage his BP and not have any problems again.

He has fluctuating BP that will be under control for a while, then it will just dive down super fast. No warning.
