Do you also train your cat how to use the bathroom? LOL

Cat pees in toilet bowl

Those who have pet cat do you train your cat how to use the bathroom during pee and waste throwing time? See the photo image, it's so interesting and awesome a cat pees properly in the toilet bowl. It seems he's feeling satisfied and refreshed. I was thinking if this cat flushed too after throwing. It maybe hard to train a cat but I saw one video a cat flushed the toilet bowl after using. It was somewhat funny, yet awesome too. But I don't have a pet cat. I just feed three stray cats that comes home every meal awaiting me downstairs. They're so pitiful. What's best in your pet cat? This is better than burying their feces in the soil and destroying plants it's more difficult I guess to train a male to urinate because they spread it all over to mark their territory.

@louievill This is true that's why I had my male cat neutered and now he no longer does spraying everywhere. He now urinates to his place.

@ZedSmart, it's good to train a cat while still a kitten. It could easily absorb to its memory.

@ZedSmart, just like a baby he should be taught to swim from age 6 months to 1 year for at that age their reflexes are active.

@cacay1 The one of my Mother in Law did, she trained her cat. I am too picky with hygiene to let an animal use our toilet.

I have heard of this, but haven't tried to train my cats, they prefer to sit on the lid which is cooler

If my cat could learn to use a people toilet, I would be so grateful! I don't see that happening, though. They probably have to learn to do that when they are kittens, and my cat is already 6 years old, so he's very set in his ways. I count myself lucky that he even uses the litter box, LOL!

I think he was trained at an early age if he really does that on a regular basis. I think animals when taught repeatedly will eventually make it a habit in time. But it might take time to train an old cat anymore since their attention span will be a bit harder and they have their own routines already.

@cacay1 Training a cat can be challenging at many times since they are independent and at times do not want to be disturbed. That trait of cats burying their waste is very much part of them already as mostly do that. That one trait of a cat is admirable on their part compared to dogs that dump anywhere they feel like it to dump their waste.

@rsa101 Digging the soft soil to throw waste is common trait to them. I saw one cat of our neighbor throwing waste on their dirty kitchen. Our neigbor was so mad. The cat ran away and never came back.

@rsa101, yes true, it requires early training for a cat. Untrained cats in my place usually pee and poop on the ground and cover their waste with soil so they have instinct idea where to throw. This proves that they can be trained but starting at their kitten age. My pet cat before was trained to watch the foods on our dining table while calling family members to get out from their shells to dine. I noticed my pet Mikmik never ate the fried fish near him. He just closed his eyes. I gave him after 1 big fried fish as reward.

We have two cats and they are trained to do it in their litter box. It must be hard to train them to use the toilet bowl. I salute the trainer who has done such a good job.

@Jenaisle, yes it seems hard. It needs expert trainer. But at least kitty learns to use its litter box.

This is something new for me. It will be amazing if the pets start using the toilet themselves so that the owner may not have the onus to clean the mess afterward.

@sjvg1976 if others can why can't you . Just try it, just talk to kitty and point the bowl. Let kitty execute. I think first time kitty will run and hide

@sjvg1976, it's amazing I believe we could train a cat to use a toilet bowl gradually but with affection so kitty will be encouraged to learn.

@cacay1 We bought this litter tray that fit on the toilet. The idea was to train them to use that, then gradually put less litter, then take the tray away.
