They did not show up

I realize this morning that when I mowed yesterday the robins did not show up. I find it odd, but blame it on the heat. I know they are "out there" as I could hear them this morning. They have a really cheery call. Usually when anyone mows, the robins are right there following. They feast on the bugs and grubs that get stirred up by the lawn mowing activity. Usually a whole brigade of them going row by row feasting on the results of my labor. I guess I will blame it on the heat. Seems logical to me. My vet said that in hot weather fleas "dry out" and go dormant. I wonder if other bugs do as well.

Oh wow. I had no idea fleas dried out. That explains why the only pests my dogs have ever had were ticks.

I'm glad you're hearing the robins. Hopefully, they haven't succumbed completely to the heat.

Yes, even critters feel the heat.

I wish the fleas here would dry out. But we keep getting rain so that helps them.

Hot weather is hard on everyone and everything. Poor robins!

Maybe they were feasting off of the bugs and grubs from someone else's lawn mowing, LOL! I love birds and their pleasant chirps and tweets. We have a birdfeeder set up in our backyard so that our indoor cat can look at them out the window.

I'd love to see many types of bugs "dry out." They are disgusting creatures! I love the robins, their cry is unmistakable.
