We had a very good dinner tonight. Chicken and potatoes. (I thought we were having meatloaf but it was chicken) It was reminiscent of Sunday dinner when I was a young child living at my grandparent's house. Grandma fixed a delicious roasted chicken for dinner usually or a roast(back when they were $3) and vegetables. We'd have biscuits and fresh bread, vegetables, carrot salad, grandma's delicious pickle relish(I miss that so much), glorified rice, and many other things I have forgotten about it seems.
My aunt usually had us, kids, at church with her and we would get to grandmas in time to help put the piece on the table, put the table cloth on it, and set it. Then help to bring the things into the dining room from the kitchen. Uncle Fred and a few others would show up soon after.
There was my aunt, her mother, the four cousins, my uncle, sometimes my uncle Jimmy(not bio uncle but loved just the same), grandma and grampa, my mom, and me.
That was probably sixty-some years ago and now out of the 12 people I listed here only about five of them are still alive. Four of them I have spoken to in many years so they may be gone too.

Great memories. We are now the oldest living relatives on my husband's side.

Yeah, but it happens to all of us, sooner or later.
