A goose that wanted to get away from the heat in Suffolk County in New York had some bad luck by getting trapped in a window well for a period of two days on Monday afternoon. I do not know how the goose could survive being trapped in a window well for two days since the goose did not have any food or water which could end the life an animal. What most likely happened was the resident of the home where the goose was trapped called 911 where Suffolk County Police Officer Joseph Biondo who will simply he was just his job to save the life of the goose who is now free to travel where he pleases.

I found a small dog once trapped in a window well, she was completely freaked out. I have no idea how long she was there. I was walking by and heard crying. After a vet visit, I fostered her for a while until we could find her a good, safe home. Window wells need to be screened or covered somehow!

Nice to know that the dog did find a loving home after you fostered the dog for some time.

@Deepizzaguy I would have adopted her, but she had a microchip and it took them over a year to find out the original owners had dumped her. Plus I had 3 other dogs at the time, I couldn't afford another one...it was hard to give her up.

@MarieCoyle I know how that feels since my home has six cats, having another pet would be too much to take care of by buying groceries.

Poor goose, he must have been hot and hungry trapped in a window. He’s probably on his way back to his flock.

A plastic product that is placed around basement windows giving a space between the basement window and the ground floor.

You are right since the heat outside is unbearable sometimes without getting any cooler air.

Poor goose, he was fortunate that a person saw him trapped and the police were able to save him. It is a miracle that it survived for two days without water and food.

My thoughts exactly since I do not know how long a goose can survive without water and food. Thank goodness a concerned citizen did contact the police to rescue the creature.

That goose must have been very happy to be rescued. Two days is a long time for an animal to be without water, let alone food.

That is true since I am sure that the goose must have felt sick to be without food and drink for two days being trapped in the window well.
