We are house-sitting now at Grass Valley, in Western Australia, several hours from our own home in a retirement village. The house is very old but has been well maintained and has all mod cons.
The one drawback is that the internet is much slower than we’re used to and sometimes drops out so I may not be myLotting as much as usual. But I’ll try to get to your discussions as well as post some of my own.
As the house has been in the same family for the past three or four generations, there are many old items throughout the house. One of the antiques is this lovely old phonograph with its very decorative horn. Isn’t it just beautiful?
Edit: I had a better photo taken as a portrait shot but for some reason it distorted badly.

I love seeing antiques but am not sure I'd want them myself. A lot of antiques are delicate and I'd be afraid I'd damage one by accident. Yes, it is beautiful.
I hope you guys are enjoying yourselves with your new friends there.

Yes, it's absolutely lovely. I wonder if it still works. Does it play platters or cylinders?

@BarBaraPrz I answered all these yesterday but I guess with the upheaval they have all disappeared.

This Antique indeed looks fabulous!
Does this still works?
These were once the biggest rage of their times.
For us, even this image is good and gives a nice idea.

That is a stunning gramophone!!! Easily the most beautiful, ornate one I’ve seen!

That looks so beautiful. We have one in our grandparents home and we cherish it as a precious possession.

I have seen this phonograph even in India. It was used to listen to songs in the 40s and 50s.
