They're greedy. A lone walrus was displaced and looking for ways to sunbathe and yes, she did sink a few of those small boats. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So what does the norwegian government do about that? Well, they decided to euthanize the poor thing. I hope anyone with any kind of self respect will not visit or buy any of the goods from that greedy country. In memory of Freya

The video is a positive one I did not want to show the sad ending of this beautiful wild walrus.

Yes it is. I hope other people will feel the same as you do. What breaks my heart the most is that she was such a young walrus, her tusks weren't even all that long yet.

Now that's how those idjits in Norway shoulda been, did you know that because parents allowed their kids to throw things at her to entice her to come to them that this fool felt he should kill her to protect them? He shoulda jailed the parents for allowing those kids to mess with her.

@rebelann There should be an outcry! In San Francisco, the walruses were well treated. The restaurants gave them their excess fish at the end of the day. We all got a kick watching them feed.

Why could they not have moved the walrus to another location? I will never understand this logic to euthanize poor creatures for just trying to survive . . . humans probably invaded the walrus' territory.

@rebelann Right. I'm sure a walrus would see a boat as something to lay on . . . it had no ill intentions of destroying it. I saw something about the powers that be said she would be a danger to people? Probably not. The owners of the boats were probably crying that their toy got broken by a bully animal - which is most likely not true.

I agree with you completely. There's no excuse for killing a walrus over some stupid boy toys .... well, that's what those boats are to me anyway .... I'm hoping the news media got it all wrong.

Oh yeah, they fear people might be hurt because those people were stupid enough to try to get too close to her to take selfies .... hey, it's those people who should be euthanized not the poor sweet walrus.

@rebelann I wrote an article about what covid -19 thinks about itself and it advises the world to love nature and spend time with family.

First and foremost is to respect nature and stop destroying it. I suppose if you are from a loving family then spending time with them would be essential.

Yes, it's very bad. They could have had some organization relocate her to an area where there are other walruses. She was a young walrus.

Sadly, Norway isn't the only country with such practices. Many animals here in the U.S. are put down for rediclious reasons.

They claimed she was a danger to people as well but people tend to be rather stupid when it comes to wild animals, some seem to think it's ok to approach a wild animal.

I just got done reading about this, it showed up on my phone in the news feed. Beyond terrible. And you will never be able to reason with these types of people, because what they can't see, is that the walrus was actually on her own property. It's the PEOPLE who were invading her turf. And she tolerated it, was even friendly. And then she gets punished for that. Rest assured, Mother Nature is watching.

Oh yes, Mother Nature is getting revenge as we speak. Soon karma will take it's toll and all most people will see is how many humans were affected. Cheeze, what about how many trees we cut down which in turn kills thousands of eco systems. Yeah, Karma is about to strike.
