Coffee and Some Chit Chat

Happy Wednesday Everyone! I've been online looking for yarn and can't believe how much the price has jumped. Usually I go to Hobby Lobby and get their yarn when it's on sale but I'm not seeing any sale this week. So, I jumped from place to place online to see if I could find some that caught my interest and was affordable. I put in a small order at Mary Maxim and hated paying for shipping but I want to start a new project and need new yarn. My daughter has a busy busy day at work today with zoom meetings so I'll try to be as quiet as possible so she's not disturbed. Sounds like a good excuse to read my book and if it isn't too hot I'll enjoy sitting outside. Right now I'm enjoying my second cup of coffee and myLotting for awhile. Biggest decision today will be what to make for dinner Enjoy your day my friends and hope you find something to smile about today

What sorts of things will you make with your yarn? Does Etsy sell yarn?

@Marilynda1225 I sold my chickens as I keep getting weasel problems thanks to the neighbors constantly attracting rats in. But I can get fresh eggs at a decent price from the Amish.

Prices have jumped up by more than just a few cents so now our money is stretched beyond belief. You're lucky you've been able to have a garden and chickens, etc.

I hope you find some good deals on yarn and enjoy your book. Never knitted so never had anything to do with yarn, but perhaps this can help you.

The prices are insane for almost everything these days. I got enough for my project but couldn't afford to buy extra for any additional projects I might want to do. Will have to wait before buying more

I always like to have a crocheting project to work on while I watch tv so I'm thinking maybe a lap blanket for when I'm reading.

That's a problem when the kids take online classes. I have to keep quiet and sometimes I cannot even watch Tv because of them. I am happy that they dont have it nowadays when the schools have opened.

It's probably even harder trying to be quiet while the kids are doing online classes. At least my daughter only has these meetings a few times a week so it's not too hard for me to be quiet. However that usually when the dog barks at something

I read yesterday that the cotton crop did not do well today, and my first thought was there goes the cost of basic clothing. They covered that in the article. They talked about the rate of inflation this month compared to last month and here, in our country, they stated that the last month's inflation was lower then the previous month. Things have gotten to out of hand that little ole me can notice the inflation when I do my grocery shopping. Hopefully things will even out. I need to start my Christmas shopping after Labour Day.

@Marilynda1225 I didn't know about a potato shortage, they are on my lift for groceries this week. I saw the big bundle package of 6 boxes of tissues on sale this week in the digital flyer and I thought to myself that maybe I will get some, even though we are well stocked, just because by the time that we run out with my luck the price will have sky rocketed or there will be a shortage problem. Our son and his wife and the twins are going to Niagara Falls next week for a little holiday and they are tentatively planning a trip to Poland, so I will wait until after they return to start my shopping. They may not go until September.

I don't believe for a minute that inflation isn't going up. Even the basic things in the grocery store have jumped in price and not even by a few cents. Now we have to not only think twice about what to buy but three times before making the purchase. The other day I saw that there is a shortage of potatoes. I'm not surprised to hear about the cotton crop. Just another jump in prices and I feel like there's no winning. I want to do my Christmas shopping early this year too but I won't be making any spontaneous purchase that's for sure. You have the twins so getting a head start is smart.

@Marilynda My daughter has started to crochet a throw-blanket using woolen yarn. She's making it for a friend's birthday.

Yes, I've also noticed that the price of yarn has jumped! I've gotten my yarn from many different places where I see something on sale, etc. Otherwise it's just too expensive.

Hope you can find what you are looking for at a reasonable price. I prepared breakfast and dinner at the same time. I don't like too much back and forth in the kitchen.
