Since I seem to be the only Malaysian here in mylot I thought of sharing our favorite national dish eaten over here in my country.I'll start by... Nasi lemak is a dish originating in Malay cuisine that consists of fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf. It is very commonly found in Malaysia. It is considered as a main dish course or some eat it during breakfast time as a meal and served at hot or room temperature. You can find it commonly in food stall by the street or local restaurant. The Nasi lemak dish contains fried anchovies, boiled or fried egg, toasted peanuts, sambal sauce, freshly cut cucumber and last but not least white rice served on a banana leaf(picture above) most of the time. You may serve them in a plate also given your choice. They give you a plastic little spoon with it also or eaten by hand whichever you prefer. The sambal taste can be mild and hot depending on the area you buy from.I always buy them in a street food stall as they are prepared freshly in the morning and add a fried chicken to go a long with it. It is a very beloved dish by all Malaysian including moi(myself).. Has any of you here in mylot ever tried this delicious dish before?

There are two other members registered on myLot but they've been gone for several months and I've been worrying about one of them. I keep hoping she comes back and checks in to let us know she's okay. It's rice.
