Bonus Drunk Bee Passed Out in Bloom

Waited for the sun to hide behind the clouds a minute and went out to snap a few garden photos. Too funny to see this bumble bee what I call drunk and passed out from the pollen. Sometimes the bees are totally white when they fly out of the blooms. The Rose of Sharon hedges have turned into trees. They are way over my head now. And covered with blooms. The bees love the pollen inside the blooms. And I don't mind sharing with them. With a decline in bees, or so I have been told, they are always welcome in my garden. Hummingbirds visited as well. Enjoyed more little things today. I hope you were able to do the same. Photo is mine.

Great catch! Ours are covered in bumble bees, too. They have crashed into my hands and arms, and I have bumped into them, too.

@CarolDM They do so much good. Every so often I find one that has kicked the bucket. I don’t know why, but it’s very sad.

@DianneN I wonder how long their life expectancy is.

I try to educate people about bees all the time, because so many people are not only afraid of bees, but want to kill them when they see them. We need to all take steps to help our beloved bees!

@CarolDM For some reason, I have always loved bees, even going back to when I was a kid.

@moffittjc I always did because I have enjoyed honey so often. And my uncle was a beekeeper.

I also love to see the bees covered with pollen. I like the bees, they are such good workers. This flower in the photo is beautiful.

I've heard of birds getting drunk on certain berries. But, this is new to me, how bumble bees get overloaded, on pollen:) It's actually funny! lol

The bees must be drunk and passed out. Too much pollen for the little fella. It can't handle it.

I thought that happened to some of mine one year but turned out to be a specialist spider that changes colour to the colour of the flower and lies in wait for the bees
