What About Ice?

I've got to finally admit it: I am an ice-a-holic! I drink a lot of water in a day, and I've got to have a full cup of ice that I then pour the water into. My husband will say, "Oh, I only want a little bit of ice in my cup, just enough to cool it." While I say, "Fill that thing with ice up to the top!" I don't know if it's because I come from the Midwest, which can get pretty darned cold in the winter, or if it's because I want to feel like I'm in a part of the world that's frozen nearly all of the time. I only know that I just really like the feeling of the ice in my cup, if that makes any sense, LOL! Also, I don't think I'd mind being in a walk-in refrigerator for most of the day, especially in the summer, as long as it was not cold enough to actually freeze me. As it is, I have a fan on me all during the summer AND during all of the other seasons, too! I can't seem to get enough of the cold! Is there anyone else like me? Do you really like a lot of ice in your drinks? Or do you prefer a little ice or even no ice? Image by Bruno /Germany from Pixabay

I only need ice in my water during the summer. However, I can’t sleep well unless the bedroom is 66 degrees or less year round.

I guess I'm an ice-a-holic too. I always fill my cups with plenty of ice cubes to enjoy my drinks. It's funny but, I like my drinks cold but my weather warm. How's that for a contradiction

I don't like a lot of ice in my drinks. Especially when I buy them commercially. Too much ice and too little drink. A friend of mine once told me that her doctor had advised her to eat ice when she was trying to lose weight. I thought that was a great idea. Oral gratification is a lot of times the reason people snack and eating ice is giving you that.

@gtdoss .......I haven't been to a restaurant in several years. I usually drink water with lemon slices.

I almost always drink water when I go to a restaurant, which I haven't done too often since Covid. And I still like a lot of ice, but I have many, many refills, LOL!

I keep my bottled water in the refrigerator and I do not add ice. When I add ice is two or three cubes, never more.

@gtdoss When we traveled to the Caribbean NEVER ice, their water is not free to drink. So many asked for bottled drinks and then added ice, so they got sick. People often do not think.

Yes, I think you are in the majority with the way you drink water.

You and I both. Being in Florida, we get our dose of hot weather. During the days I drink iced tea, I keep in a jug in the fridge and cold water, I just have to keep my two ice trays frozen because I need at least 2 to 3 ice cubes or more per drink,

I like to be under the fan and wish to live under fridge in summers. I like little ice and in soft drinks which I take occassionally. I don't consume ice in water daily

I guess everybody is different. Some like a lot of ice, some like a little ice, some like medium ice, and some like no ice.

I used to work at a fast food chain and the trick our managers told us to ‘save’ soda/cola is to put A LOT of ice in the cup lolllll

I used to drink soda pop on a glass with plenty of ice in the past. These days I drink soft drinks with a few ice added to the drink since it keeps me away from enjoying a cup of soda pop.

Oh, I love the term "soda pop"! My dad used to say that, and I have a sort of nostalgia for that term!

My mom was the same way. She didn't like ice in her water, and she always kept the thermostat up so high that I was always a little too hot in her house, LOL!
