Did you ever lied (a white lie ) to your parents and what it was ?

September 3, 2022 10:45am CST
Hey, hope you all are doing well. So every month's 1st I receive my salary and it gets vanished by 15th day of the month. That's fine as till then I have bought and paid all the bills for the last month. My dad doesn't know how to use online banking or mobile banking. He still every month 3rd will give his Debit Card to bring the cash for monthly groceries etc. For past 2 years now, I hardly use his card, instead I use mine and bring the cash. Though I never tell him that I didn't used his card. Instead I will tell him, he should switch the bank as I have to swipe twice every month to get the cash. Oh wait, that doesn't mean that I always use my card, I use his card after 14th of every month when my bank account is zero. So , Did you every lied to your parents. And what it was ?

Yup, i told my mom that a dress she liked was pretty when I didn't like it. I wasn't the one wearing it, so as long as she liked how she looked in it, then it was fine. You really should tell your dad you're helping pay bills, though.

@sjvg1976 I think his dad will be heartsick when he finally realizes he was being lied to, even if it is a lie of omission.

How you got sleep that day You really should tell your dad you're helping pay bills, though. I am planning not to tell him henceforth. He is not dependent. I am the one who is dependent. Now she will have some savings because of this. Don't you think

Doesn't he get a message of a transaction on his phone? I was a sincere kid so never lied to my parents.

I think he should get it, but that works only if you have SMS alert enabled. He is BOI user, I am not sure it sends or not. He hardly checks his whatapp messages, I am pretty sure he doesn't even check his message. I know he only knows how to check call history, call back and use one of his fav app. I sound like teenager but I am an old guy here if I would be in DE's place then I would had two big daughters.

Yes I have and 33 year sold I can’t even tell what it was that I may or may not have said. Why because it’s not important anymore it was in the past.

oh, but you don't have any funny lie...Something like one usually end up telling their own kids

@ShyBear88 It's not easy for kids to lie unless they are taught how to be good at it. Kids learn it from Surroundings only. You got pretty good people around you that means! No mother wants their kids to have the life she had gone through! Here parents talk about their old days, and share few of the memorable days. And things they did while they were in school. But this talk happened with me when I was in Junior College. So I missed what I could do in School why I’m good at keeping secrets or making up stories. This scares me what to believe and what not ? Online anyone can make stories. Well how good you are at making stories in person and sticking to it in long run will show your skills

@ShyBear88 You learnt it somewhere... some how, So someone taught you right ? Either it was your friend who used to get away with lies or made up stories or TV.... I am skipping this topic because I personally know one person who went through this and seen her cry like anything when she talked about it. So I would rather avoid this topic I am not good at managing such situation personally or over the chat. I hardly get away with the lies so I avoid them. Though I try initially to lie but later tell them I don't want to go.

Yours doesn’t sound like a bad lie really unless I am confusing things. I’m usually very honest with everyone I know I did lie to them at times as a teen but I don’t recall what about.

@shaggin I am just 7 years younger then you But I remember most of lies. I might be because I used to have anxiety after lying. It's not for all but most of them since those which my body doesn't accept it. So until I say it to someone I don't feel better. So this time I used Mylot to get it off me

I didn't tell them that I was taking a day off from work and going with my boyfriend (now my husband) to an amusement park and winery. They found out anyway.

I think I lie a lot hahaha. I always send money to my mother, and my mother always asks, Do I have enough money?? So I'll say, Yes..I have enough money for a spree, even when the bank balance is only $1.

I surprise my family with their favorite food and when they asked me how I got them, I tell them, I was given a big discount or I won a shopping contest As for my parents, white lie or not I did lie to them because of a lot of things that I no longer can remember

I lied by telling incomplete truths. "What did you do this afteroon, Son?" "I played fotball catch with my friends and then did math homework!" The truthful answer might have been, "I played football catch with my friends, did five minutes of math homework, took a hit off of a joint, and looked at my friend's dad's Playboy magazine."

Us old guys are sometimes hesitant to learn new technology. I do use online banking however.
