Howdy! Happy Labor Day weekend to everyone in America who’s celebrating. I’m busy working up another theme for you to run away from, ahem, enjoy. I just finished a countdown with talk in the title. The natural follow-up would be listen because we allegedly listen when people talk. (Of course, we don’t listen anymore, which is why the world is in such a mess.) So we’ll have ten songs with “listen” or “listening” in the title. Here’s you’re teaser, from Lester & Earl, with the great Paul Warren on fiddle. And yes, there’ll be a couple more country songs on the list…but the usual rock and roll suspects will also be here! Have a great weekend!

Now u listen up missy, did people ever listen. Haha That actually used to be my favorite line when try to show people new music. Listen to this. I was not born on politics believe it or not except foster home but we chalked that up as not how realt people think. Little did I know as far as young people anyway a lot of it was all how their parents taught them politics. I cannot like that or screw my parents and teachers they jerks, I love that. Some actually learned what song is about. Whats this song about poor bird had to listen to that scratch and then a cat jumped out a window. Bird sounds were pretty cool

That’s one of the things that makes this a “high-level” fiddle song: making the bird sounds.

@FourWalls Very cool indeed miss lady, they do not ever do that anymore. That's like true folk music right there.

Aw, I would have thought for sure you’d known some Flatt & Scruggs, even if you didn’t know this song.

There is, but….well, you’ll have to decide for yourself. Country-rock today, I’d say.

After all that time of wearing a mask during the pandemic most of us are more ears than anything else!

Oh man that's some totally kool fiddlin. Dad loved to listen to Lester n Earl, but mostly he liked their funny stuff. I remember the theme song for the Beverly Hillbillies.

Lester and Earl were on The Beverly Hillbillies a few times! I got to meet Earl Scruggs once, briefly. What an incredible talent.
