Late Lunch at Arby's

I usually hate having a late lunch since, for me, it tends to ruin dinner. But, a late lunch is what we had.
Obviously we spent most of our day in Wentzville, MO at Camping World, and when we got finished up there, around 230pm or so, we decided to grab something at Arby's on the way home.
We sat in, something we hardly ever do when it comes to fast food. But, it's the weekend so why not?
We both had double roast beef sandwiches, which were delicious. I got some crinkly fries with mine. I love to dip my fries in Horsey Sauce, as well as put a heaping helping of Horsey Sauce on my roast beef sandwich.
Tonight for dinner we are just going to grab some quick leftovers. But not now. Even at 635pm as I write this I am not ready to eat anything yet.
By the way, did you know that Arby's is not anyone's name? The founders of the company came up with the name as a spelling out of RB, which stands for roast beef.
Pretty clever, hey? lol

I just ate lunch, so yours wasn't so late, after all.
(I normally eat "supper" around midnight. *shrug*)

Sometimes Pretty is ready to eat by the time I have made something in the evening and sometimes she isn't. I put it on the table and she can eat when she's ready.

Yes if I eat that late, I surely will not eat dinner.
Glad you enjoyed Arbys. I have not had that for many years now.
Wow that is interesting about the name. Didnt know it no.

@RubyHawk Not necessarily. Most of the time it's just a little bit of brainstorming that gets it done. And when it comes to business, many successful businesses know that a lot of the time less is more. BUT, a name is very important. It needs to be simple, identifiable, and even easy to slip off the tongue.
It is funny to me that a lot of people don't know that the reason Taco Bell is named Taco Bell has nothing to do with a bell, but that the guy who founded the company's name was Glen Bell. Keeping it simple provides another example. No one would have shopped at Kresge Mart, but Kmart? Slips off the tongue, easy to remember, and even kind of catchy. Just like Walmart founded by Sam Walton. Would you shop at a Walton Mart? Maybe Walton's would have worked. But something tells me Walmart just says a lot more even if it less.
Great names also become easily recognized by their nicknames as well. Wally World. Mickey D's. B-Dubs. Just to name a few.

I almost stopped at Arby’s yesterday for lunch, but the place was packed from the after-church crowd and I didn’t feel like waiting in line. I can’t believe I just said the words “Arby’s” and “packed” in the same sentence. Nobody ever eats at that place. Except for when I’m hungry and want to stop by there.

@porwest There is a very prominent attorney here in the southeast that posts some funny ramblings of his on social media accounts. One of his posts was making fun of Arby’s, speculating that it is a money laundering business of an organized crime ring. He suggested that (jokingly of course) because of the fact that there are never any customers at their restaurants, yet they stay in business and continue to expand the number of restaurants.

@porwest I wouldn’t be shocked if that was in fact what was really going on. I just never see enough customers at any Arby’s to explain how they stay in business.

Cute name, we got numbers of American food chain here in the Philippines but have not found one in my area. Roast beef is just among my favourites. Maybe when I put up a store I would name it FW short of florelway lol the other way around but it resembles a popular rootbeer brand
