I am familiar with the word kerfuffle and been involved in a few in my time.

Also known as a hullabaloo or hoo-ha. Funny phrases, but we British are a bit of a funny lot.

Is it in the OED? I guess if it is Scottish in origin, then let it be Scottish only, why bring it to English where already there are so many words for conflicts

? Maybe keep it as a dialectical word.
