It feels so good to have Lou back home!!!! I’m sure that’s a vacation she doesn’t want to remember but won’t forget. Nothing like being home. And there’s nothing like another song with “nothing” in the title. Here’s today’s funk-alicious tune. #9: Nothing From Nothing - Billy Preston The Fifth Beatle gave it all he got with this terrific tune, which stands (with “Will It Go Round in Circles”) as his best-remembered songs. Well…if you don’t count that he co-wrote “You Are So Beautiful,” which is one of Joe Cocker’s signature tunes. Or that he was actually credited on the 45 with the Beatles on “Get Back.” Or all those songs he played on as a session musician. Preston was one of a kind, giving us some great piano work for the Beatles, Stones, Sam Cooke, and so many more, then giving us some of the great, happy, upbeat tunes that made 70s AM radio so special. The song has a happy beat to it. I did not know he wrote these songs. Love the Joe Coker song.

I do have an idea. You can do a “Top Ten Nothing Songs that Dummy Four Walls Forgot,” and make it “Nothing Compares 2U” ten times.

It was a big hit for him here. Guess it didn’t make it across the oceans.

Billy was certainly a talented musician! George thought enough of his talent to bring him on tour with him and let him play this great tune and a couple more.

The “fifth Beatle”! That gives you an indication how well he was respected.
