Predator

October 2, 2022 12:55pm CST
Hubby saw this Black Kite or Whistling Kite outside our bedroom window eating its newly caught victim. The Blackbird met its unfortunate end. The Whistling Kite's hunt for the day, I had hoped, swooped down for rodents in the yard. Apparently, there were none. Or maybe another sunny day next time. The picture is a bit hazy because it was shot through glass and fly screen. How are you today?

I think the photo is quite good. It can be really difficult shooring through glass and fly screen but I think you've done well with this one.

@everwonderwhy I'm not sure what it is either although I know what a zoom lens is.

Thank you @JudyEv. I think Husband used a zoom lens E-M1 Mkiii. I don't know what that is, but he just told me :-) It was a big one.

Those predators are beautiful, but I feel sad for their victims.

Oh, yeah. I think my hubby took this shot of eyes and clover on purpose. He sees these details like you did. Thanks.

Why is it named as such? Does it whistle?

That is one gorgeous but angry-looking bird. Alas, poor blackbird but eat we must, I had a long day writing at my PC and I am looking forward to relaxing and reading,

What a stunning photo you captured. I see the feathers of the blackbird. And I have seen red tailed hawks flying around here before. They look similar from what I can tell.
