What do you do when you find you are addicted to something?

I stopped going to Facebook because it was becoming an addiction. I would check every hour if someone would write a message to me. So I don't want to be addicted to anything, so I made myself stop. Have you done something like this?

Anything in limit looks okay to me... Becoming addicted to something will have effect on health some how. And I respect your decision. I wish you stay strong and follow it and able to control yourself. I am not addicted to anything as of now... Finger crossed. @daddyevil @vandana7

Honestly I am addicted to myLot. The way Rachael Alice described her addiction to fb. But I do not have enough time on my hand so I have to stop me from responding. At times, it is the net, or power that stops me. But there are times, I have to tell myself, if you enter this, that will be pending. So I have to stop me.

I have become addicted to myLot... to a degree. If there are other things I need or want to do, I do them without worrying about myLot. But, while I'm doing them, sometimes I think about people from myLot and wonder what they are doing. As long as whatever you're addicted to doesn't interfere with your real life, then it's fine.

@vandana7 Even the addiction to mylot is not good. I remember when I joined mylot I used to awake late at night for it. But not now. I have restricted my time to be here on the site.

Addiction to a social app is very bad. It is a waste of your precious time. My son who is of 14 years was addicted to Instagram. We allowed our kids to use mobile phones during the lockdown as they were having online classes during that period and from there he started using Instagram. But when we realise he was not able to live without it we restricted his usage of his phone and computer and now when they have offline classes we don't allow him to use a mobile phone and hence with great difficulty we were able to get rid of his addiction of it.

I hope that your son understood why you were limiting his online time, and that he wasn't resentful. The major thing is that everyone understands and does it with good intentions and love.
