Another day almost down.

Well it's the afternoon and I've just finished giving Chilly his steam treatment. In addition of having early stage kidney tease, he has cold-like symptoms. So, our vet has me giving him a daily steam treatment as well as pills and a special cat food. So far the treatments seem to be working, even if Chilly hates them. With each day and each treatment he is starting to act more like himself.

Lock myself in the bathroom with the shower running on hot for about ten minutes. I don't leave him unsupervised because I don't want him to figure out he can open the door and get out.

@kaylachan Oh yes that makes sense as I was wondering how you could possibly hold him while steaming him lol

@RebeccasFarm I can, but he doesn't make it easy. He's very vocal, and I will hold him a little. But, letting him just chill works, too.

They don't. He's exhibiting cold-like symptoms, too. Since you can't get a cat to blow its nose. Stteam treatments help him break up the mucus and clear it that way.

Well not all cats have quite the fear of water as he does. But I'm getting it done.

Basically, I have or had to, lock him in the bathroom with the water running in the shower as hot as possible. It was easier when we were hotel hopping at the start, but boy when we got home.....

@porwest Haha. It would've been if I could film and drag him into the bathroom, but allas I couldn't.

@CarolDM He seems to struggle a little at night, but he's eating which is important because of his kidneys.

I could never give my cats pills I was so scared of hurting them. My first husband always had to do it instead. I’m glad the steam treatment is helping him!

That's great that Chilly is feeling better. My Fred cat was just diagnozed with heart issues plus his asthma is worse. The Vet was talking about how to set up his carrier so that Fred would be forced to inhale meds for his lungs. So far the Depo shot has stopped his horrible coughs. I will drive to the Clinic on Monday and get his heart meds.

Good luck with that. I know it can't be easy. Doing steam treatments is hard enough with Chilly.
