I get to teach my young friend Anabella today!

It's been weeks since I gave a guitar/keyboard lesson to Anabella! She's my young friend and student who performed with me a couple of times at Guitar Center's "Showcases." I'll attach a picture of us together after one such Showcase a few months ago. Her dad got ticked off because the new "Lessons Lead" hassled him about money. He decided to quit Guitar Center. But he found my number somehow, so she and I have continued lessons on weekends at her dad's office, which is even closer to my house than Guitar Center. She has been busy with soccer, and some of her games are on Saturday while others are on Sunday. Anabella is older now, at nine, but she's still fired up about learning guitar and piano. She likes reading "tab," which is helpful for learning melodies. Wish me a good time!

@LadyDuck She seems to. And I enjoy teaching her. She actually practices at home. Some kids don't.

We had a great time. We even had a "holding our breath" contest. We went over our chords and scales and I showed a new song a a new chord.

It was fun. The "holding our breath" contest in the middle our lesson was special. It grew out of a conversation about swimming. I did teach her some new stuff, including a Jesse Winchester song and a "Hendrix chord."

We had fun. I taught her some new stuff. But we also had a "holding our breath" competition in the middle of the lesson and chatted it up a bit. I stayed way longer than half an hour, and her mom overpaid me by ten dollars.
