As some of you know I am engrossed with making preparations for that Xmas party. I was searching online for bulk purchase of various items to be given away by Santa. This item caught my eye. They are cheap and I could add a few in each pack. But I did not like the idea of just throwing them away after they are done with.
Not so long ago we got refills and the body of the pen stayed with us.
Do you get refills for your ball point pens?

That is true. These days hardly pens are used.

Even using a ball point pen every day at Walmart, I never used up the ink in one pen.

There is always something that is written out here and the ink does get over. We have a huge collection of pens that do not work any more. I do not have the heart to throw them away.

@allknowing I always bought good pens for work and the customers always managed to steal them from me. That's the reason I never finished all the ink in one.

Unless they are recycled burning or burying them is not good for the environment

I think it's a bit cheaper to do a refill than buying a new one

I normally throw them away after use. I don't consider refilling ball point pens.

Those pens are not biodegradable. We are adding to pollution

I remember as a child trying to work out what was the difference between an ordinary pen and a 'disposable' pen. Eventually I concluded that anything called 'disposable' simply means that it is cheap. These sort of thing exemplify what is wrong with our 'throw-away' society.
I do buy refills for nice pens and I also use a fountain pen and a bottle of ink. Nevertheless we still seem to accumulate these single-use sort of pens that come free as promotional materials and that sort of thing. Some are quite nice and I keep them and buy refills, even though the refills cost more than just buying another cheap pen!

I do not know why they started this use and throw system. It is not good for the environment. I did not know refills are costlier than the pen itself

Imagine the garbage collected with these that are not biodegradable.
