This morning we had an earthquake about 12 miles east of San Jose, with a magnitude about 5.1. That is the preliminary estimate. It is the biggest quake in the area in nearly a decade. People are asked to stay on alert in case of aftershocks or a stronger jolt. I was in the library and there was some good shaking. It is only 1 floor so others who were on a second floor felt stronger shaking. Predictably, some people were outside and didn’t think it was much at the time. It made the national news here.

I'm glad that you didn't get hurt. Any damages caused by the earthquake?

I have not read about that one yet. I will check it out. What city was it near?

Me too. It was the biggest in the area since 2014. It was centered in a county park.

I saw that news on the Associate Press app. I went to the KRON4 website, and it didn’t seem to be that big a deal. I guess they don’t interrupt the news for anything under a 6.2.
Glad you’re okay. And I’m glad I live where we don’t normally deal with earthquakes.

Hmmmm…I dont know if news can be interrupted since it’s news. But it was close to the beginning of ABC’s national news with David Muir.
