There seem to be quite a number of respiratory illnesses in the air. For the past few weeks a number of babies and young children are also being affected . We are now actually in the flu season. Covid is still in the air. There is a new respiratory illness called RSV that is mostly affecting kids now. The kids' hospitals are overcrowded. Is this new respiratory illness affecting your city too? What is really contributing to the air pollution in our society?

What is RSV? I think Covid is still our primary suspect when respiratory problems do exist in an illness. But of course, we should still consider that it can just be just ordinary rhinitis or something else.

Based on further research. RSV stands for Respiratory Syncytial Virus. It is very prevalent In New York now.

@rsa101 Yes it is quite new to me too. These illnesses are causing our immune system to to overwork. If adults find it so difficult can you imagine what the kids have to go through.

As the ice caps melt and glazers are melting that is releasing diseases that have never been around before. Scientist say it will get worse.

@askme123 As the CEO of Pfizer confirmed today that the actual vaccine does NOT protect at all against the actual mutations, I see no reason to give those jabs to babies.

@LadyDuck I agree with you. So many people take the jabs and still catch covid They need to do more intense research and improvement based on all the side effects that have been reported.

Wow it started long time then and affecting Europe too.I also read that they wanted to let the babies take C19 jabs. However I think that is too risky.

I hope it goes back where it came from. We can't manage another outbreak now.

It has not affected our city by God's grace. The air of course is polluted throughout India.

Increased number of vehicles especially in the bigger cities is a big polluter in India. Then, Farm Fires caused by burning of Stubble after harvest, especially in North India and Pakistan also causes terrible pollution. Result - More respiratory illness among biggies as well as kids. Governments are waking up to the increased pollution but much more needs to be done.

@askme123 Here, Tax rebates are being given by the Central Government so that people buy more Electric cars. The problem is of Mileage, speed and insufficient charging stations. Charging stations capacity building is a big challenge. However, we might see improvements as time goes by.

Yes the fumes, carbon and dust contribute to the air pollution. That is why they want to switch to electric cars. However not everyone will be able to afford this.

My sister and I both have colds that develop quickly into a cough. It is many days now and we still have cough. I have no cough for many years but this year I catch it thrice maybe because there is really a virus in the air

Covid is still going strong in the US... Pretty and I are still avoiding people and wearing masks when we leave the house. We LIKE not catching all the air-borne illnesses everyone else is still passing among themselves. We still haven't had any colds, flu or Covid since the pandemic started. The masks also seem to be helping avoid some of the allergic reactions we've had problems with in the past.

Well good to know that you and Pretty have not catch Covid.Continue to practise the healthy measures and keep safe. I read that the RSV though was prevalent at some of the hospitals so that was where most of the young babies caught it.

I don't think the very young babies can manage this RSV.I have also read that some young babies pass away as a result of this RSV.

Yes that is true. The symptoms may seem mild at first but can cause major damage to lungs when prolonged.

What really pollutes the air in our country is factory smoke and factory waste that smells wafting into the air. Our government strictly makes laws on air pollution. What is currently happening in our country, Indonesia, is that many children suffer from liver disease due to consuming milk and baby/child food containing chemicals.
