Nature Had A Surprise At Sunset

Rain and clouds most all day yesterday and today. I knew there would be NO sunset yesterday. Only lots of clouds. Surprisingly, right before sunset, I noticed this orange glow all over the sky. Nothing but clouds where the sunset usually appears. But nature managed to share some color all over the skies. So cool to see this glow all around me. Snapped a few photos. This is the poplar tree in the backyard. Most of the leaves have fallen now. This orange glow was more of those little things to enjoy life. I wonder how many others noticed. Today, with the time change, the sunset will be an hour earlier. But, like yesterday, rain and clouds all day. So I don't expect a sunset. Hope your weekend has been enjoyed. Photo is mine.

It's a beautiful picture. The rain here stopped yesterday afternoon and the clouds just wandered your direction. You should have two and a half cloudy days. Hopefully you'll get some nice, lasting rain from them. We ended up with about an inch or an inch and a quarter from the steady rains this time.

Thank you. I was surprised to see so much orange. Not a lot of rain but several showers all weekend. Then the cold arrives Saturday. Thanks for the rain. We needed it.

@CarolDM You're very welcome. I don't think I've ever seen a sky showing that much orange before. Usually I see pinks with orange above it. You got cheated on the rain, then! You should complain to Mother Nature.

@DaddyEvil I was amazed at the orange. And still so many clouds to the west. These trees face the south. I complained but all I got was the orange glow in the sky. Oh well.

This sunset is amazing, incredible orange color. You were lucky to get it at the right moment. I know the bright colors do not last long during sunset

Thank you but this was not a sunset. Only skies with a beautiful orange glue. This view is looking to the south. The west only had clouds. Amazing nature.

@LadyDuck This happens from time to time, but was unexpected on such a cloudy evening. The sun was trying its best to peek out and show its color at sunset time. And part of it succeeded.

@CarolDM yer welcome :) couldn't recall visitin' here fer some time, rarely 've the puter'n. too much other schtuff to keep me busy. i love 't here when such lights'p the skies fer's far's the eye can see. i find myself 'bsessed with snappin' many photos, regardless 'f other thingies needin' tendin'. 'bout the time ya think such cannot poss'bly get more fascinatin', such does. who wishes to miss out'n that, eh?

We had a strange day yesterday--sunny and warm and then all of a sudden an hour of a real heavy downpour and then an hour later with the sun out you would never have known it rained!! Looks like we have a very rainy week coming up!

Stunning photo. Love that God sends a sunset when least expected. We took this picture Sunday on the way to the evening service. The moon got covered by the clouds right as I was trying to take the picture. I think it is still pretty. Not use to going out at 5:45 and it being that dark though

Thanks but no sunset here. Only orange glow coming form the skies. Such a beautiful evening. Clouds were to the west, where the sunset is at this time of day.
