Weird delivery status

In October I had ordered Bounty paper towels from Amazon. I was keeping track of the order when I saw an email that the Bounty was delivered. Email said that the package was left in my mailbox. I immediately thought something wasn’t right and wondered why it said what it said. There’s no way a box of 12 rolls of paper towels would fit into the mailbox. I went downstairs and opened the house door to find the box on the porch. I was relieved to see it there. I didn’t want to deal with a package that Amazon said was delivered but potentially was nowhere to be found.

I always worry about porch pirates. We try and get the packages inside ASAP after they are delivered. I'm glad you got your package.

Two packages were delivered today. Thankfully I heard a van and was able to get the packages as soon as they were placed on the porch. Good thing because it’s raining here. The second guy actually rang the doorbell, which surprised me. These days they usually don’t.

@LindaOHio Good thing he did because it was raining here. What he also did was open the glass door and put the package between that and the house door. Guess to prevent it from getting wet.

@lovebuglena They don't here either. I wish they would ring the bell.

Just the thought of them trying to squeeze all those paper towels into your mailbox is a funny visual. Glad they were on your porch and you didn't have a missing delivery

That is a strange status to be sure.

Yeah. If I hadn't noticed the package on my porch that would have been a problem.

@lovebuglena I can fully understand why that would be. A few years ago, I ordered something from Walmart-Mart. And, they said it was delivered. I talked to the neighbors, and nothing came to them on accident. Ironically, someone dropped off the package the next day.

Yeah. Get this. I placed two different orders with Victoria's Secret on the same day. When the packages arrived, both on the same day, one was stuffed into the mailbox while the other one was placed on my porch. If they were delivered by the mailman and probably at the same time why the heck weren't they both placed on my porch as both clearly wouldn't fit into the mailbox?

@RebeccasFarm I saw the package on my porch and wondered why it was only one when I was expecting two. And then I went to check the mailbox and there it was.

Amazon screwed up the delivery of a chair Pretty was expecting... They claimed they delivered it to an address that didn't exist. After trying and trying to get things straightened out, Amazon returned the money and Pretty was scared to try ordering it again. Then, a few weeks later, the chair arrived and Amazon has never said a word about sending them payment.

I had just the opposite happen with an Amazon package that was delivered. It said it was delivered to my doorstep, but the product wasn’t there. It was in my mailbox instead.

@lovebuglena You’re not kidding when you say they squeeze that stuff in the mailbox. They do the same with me. Sometimes the packages are stuffed in there so tight that it takes all my strength to pull it out. I wish they wouldn’t do that.

Haha. Good thing you checked your mailbox. I would have thought the package was lost or stolen. Actually happened to me once. Said package was delivered but it was in my mailbox instead of on the porch. And they really squeezed it in there, which I wished they hadn't done.

@moffittjc I've done that as well. But also the lock in our mailbox doesn't work so the door is never locked. Once the package was stuffed in there (when it clearly shouldn't have been) and it was sticking out from the door, the door being slightly open. We have this huge thing where each owner in our row of townhouses has a mailbox. I guess you'd call it a community mailbox or something like that.
