Maybe more like months ago.. But I know this is pretty silly, but I got to thinking a few random things: How similar the fast food restaurant chains "Dairy Queen" and "Burger King" sound.. I guess it's more the King and Queen words, but it never really occurred to me, until fairly recently. Another thing, this one is a bit of a weird one, but the farming equipment company "New Holland" and the food/chip company "Old Dutch" those ones are a bit more contrasting I suppose, but it's interesting how Dutch and Holland are basically words that are to do with the Netherlands, in one way or another. That is all.. I know, very silly.. But I had to share

Good to think of these little things sometimes. I always like the ice cream at Dairy Queen. Has been awhile. Beautiful photo.

@dilleo Totally agree with your list of foods. And the Netherlands have always been on my bucket list.

Agreed (but I guess I am a little biased lol). I love ice cream at Dairy Queen as well! So good I also like their food, at least for the most part.. the chicken strips, onion rings, burgers there are half decent I would say (or at least, for fast food). It is a nice picture, yes. I would love to go to the Netherlands one day!

Not very inventive, is it? What would you name them instead?

@RubyHawk Interesting ideas! I don't think I am very good with coming up with creative names, at least not in this case. I do like the ones you said though

It's not so much that, it's more of an observation. I mean, you're not wrong either. That is a great question too, but I couldn't really come up with anything better, haha

Not all that silly. Wayyyyyyy back in the 70s what became Dairy Queen used to be called Burger Queen. I tried them once and didn’t like them because they put mustard on their burgers.

@dilleo — yes, then they went to the name Druther’s before DQ. No telling if they were in Canada, thought. Tim Horton’s restaurants only come so far south into the US. (PS: ever read about Horton? Hockey player with a nose for entrepreneurship. Killed in a car wreck after a game in 1974. )

Yes, correct! I would love to go to the Netherlands one day. I have some Dutch blood in me as well, though it does go back some generations.. If I'm remembering right, it was my great-great-grandparents who settled in Alberta, Canada.. But emigrated from the Netherlands.

Is it just me who pronounced Dairy Queen and Burger King aloud?

Oh yeah, that is a good one too! I know there are lots of Walmart's in Canada, but we do not have Kmart here anymore (I believe we had some at one time, but it has been a while).
