Trump—will he or won’t he?

Trump has been teasing a “big announcement” for a couple of weeks now. Supposedly he wanted to announce.a 3rd run at the White House at a rally for JD Vance the Saturday before Election Day but was dissuaded. So he then said he would be making it November 15 (today) at Mar-a-Lago. Then Election Day happened and the Republicans pretty much got their asses handed to them in a year where they should have picked up MANY seats. Neither Raphael Warnock nor Herschel Walker received 50% of the vote in Georgia so they have a runoff vote next month. Many of the more normal Republicans do NOT want Trump to announce before the runoff. The failure of the “red wave” to materialize is seen as the non-MAGA GOP’s exhaustion with Trump. They are ready to move on to a fresh face. If he announces a campaign tonight it absolutely would have an effect on the election—not good for Walker. So the question now is will he or won’t he? Guys it’s Trump. Of course he will. He can’t stand to not be the center of attention and he is really pissed that Ron DeSantis did so well in Florida. He’ll do it. I’d put money on it.

Well, considering that he hasn't yet been charged, I believe it is within his rights to seek any political office in your nation. Therefore, leave him alone and abstain from voting if you don't like him. However, if the vast majority of your voters approve of him, you are left with little choice but to accept it.

@NJChicaa He was the most contentious president that your nation had ever seen. The allies he allied with were likewise questionable, and his policies differ somewhat from others'.

He can run even if he is charged. He can run from jail.

You know what would be HILARIOUS….if no media showed up to cover it. Like that line Chevy Chase used in “Weekend Update” about Frank Sinatra….”Sources report that nobody is interested and nobody cares.’

He has become a big distraction for the whole nation. We just need to move on.

Why not? U.S.A. is the country land of the free men and women (supposedly).

I think he might run as an Independent if the GOP doesn't back him.

My hope is that he surprises us and steps aside, but I too suspect that won't happen. As I have said before, while I am a strong supporter of Trump's policy, which worked and was highly successful, I also think the country needs to move on. His presence simply causes too much of a distraction from what needs to be done as well as what needs to be reported on. I agree with your term "Trump exhaustion." That about sums it up. Will I support him if he ultimately runs and gets the nomination? Yes. Because again I support his policies and we cannot have another four years of Biden. But do I prefer he step aside? That's a BIG yes for me.

I don't think he will ever give up, at least not until he loses everyone who supported him, along with his family. Narcissists have to be in control. They get frantic and make even wilder decisions when the control is not there for them. Losing control in any way is a huge blow to their self-esteem, and they will do almost anything to get it back. Their bittterness and anger just intensifies until eventually pretty much everyone runs away from them. He is his own worst enemy.
