Slow Cooker Dinner of Roast and Veggies

Another favorite dinner just finished. Earlier this morning I placed a roast, beef broth and seasonings in the slow cooker. Added cream of mushroom soup as well.
Let it cook a couple of hours. Then added quartered potatoes and baby carrots. And a small can of stewed tomatoes. It cooked another three hours. And smelled so good all day.
Finally had a bowl with a piece of cornbread. Oh my goodness was it good. Something about a cold rainy day and a bowl of roast and veggies that just makes the day. Comfort food enjoyed.
Hope you enjoyed your day as well. I got some clothes ready for donation while dinner was cooking. Needy families will get these boxes I have.
Helping others will in turn help you. I do it every chance I get. Have a good evening.

I did not know you have recipes that take hours for cooking. What I see in your photo made me want that too! (lol)

@CarolDM I know slow cooking does make the food taste better but one must have the patience

@allknowing When you have a cooker, you just plug it in and let it cook. Nothing to do. Many will do this while working, turn it on low and leave it cooking all day. Here is a photo of mine.

That is why I enjoy the slow cooker, or some call it a crock pot. It is made to cook meals for hours. It has a low and high temperature, and a warmer when it is done. Then set the timer in increments of 30 minutes. Very nice. I love this meal. A favorite comfort meal when it is cold.

It sounds real good. I do love a slow cooker in the winter. I am enjoying a nice evening watching Dexter.

That looks delicious. Now, I'm hungry. That would be perfect with rice. Yummy. I wish I could cook it one of these days. I'm always hungry when I come to Mylot and see these delectable dishes.
My meal was just rice and chicken. You're generous for donating some of your clothes. God bless you.

Your dinner looks delicious! Pretty cooks a lot in the slow cooker during the Winter months and makes lots of stews and the occasional roast. YUM!

That looks and sounds delicious. I keep to simple meals of pork patties or chicken nuggets with French fries and some gravy. Getting frozen stuff always lasts longer for me,
