Introducing Gracie / myLot

Would @Juliaacv be surprised if I told her I keep calling this lovely dog Ellie instead of Gracie? I’ve long admired Ellie who belongs to Julia’s son and wife and now it seems I have an Ellie of my own albeit only for a week. Ellis is a golden retriever/poodle cross with the softest coat and brownest eyes that you could imagine. Gracie is ten years old, very gentle but I think she might be the boss of the three of the dogs we’re looking after. It’s interesting to watch the interaction between them, not that there is much. Occasionally, they’ll sleep together but they don’t hang really around each other. If one runs to the door barking, then the others follow. Touch wood, there is never any sign of any antagonism. Isn’t Gracie a lovely dog?

I am not surprised that you call her "Ellie" we have some famous pets here in myLot, Ellie, Scar, Emoci, The Dude and Brendel, Roscoe, all the pets of Eva there are many. Gracie is a cute poodle, all black, she looks to be a quiet girl.

She's beautiful and I can see why you'd mix her up with Ellie. I love her name though, I had a golden retriever who someone had named Gracie before I adopted her.

She is a lovely dog. Ellie's coat is very soft, and being black it is so nice and warm to touch when she's been outside sunbathing as Gracie seems to be doing here. You can borrow the name, I'm sure that Gracie won't tell.

@JudyEv Ellie is an Aussie Doodle, which is a mix between an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle. Those poor poodles, they are crossed with every breed it seems. Ellie seems to have more Aussie in her, she is incredibly intelligent and always skirting the edge of the crowd when we gather. Like she is shepherding us together. And....coincidentally enough, on the Aussie topic, whenever I give her loving from friend friend Judy, she seems to look at me like she knows.

Gracie is very affectionate too and comes up for cuddles from time to time.

Her coat is very curly and really soft. Black absorbs the light and it's really hard to give any definition to the photo. We always complain about black horses and how hard they are to photograph. White ones aren't much better.
