Doing television commercials can be quite the lucrative gig if you can get it. Especially if you are catchy enough to become a spokesperson of sorts with lasting value like the Flo girl from Progressive or the old Mr. Whipple from Charmin commercials. Granted, Mr. Whipple, played by Dick Wilson, did not fare as well as many do nowadays. But he still made a decent $300,000 a year salary and only had to work 12-16 days a year to cash in. One guy making a massive loot just to play a part in Allstate commercials is none other than Dean Winters who plays the "Mayhem" guy. In fact, it is estimated that he makes approximately $4,750 every single time one of his commercials airs. Now you know.

I dislike commercials but this one I can tolerate. He is a funny guy. They all get paid crazy amounts.

I can watch insurance commercials. They are all pretty funny. From Progressive to Geico to Allstate and State Farm, they seem to have mastered the "enterainment value" of their commericials.

Insurance commercials must have done something right because they are the only commercials I actually don't mind watching. Many of them are quite funny.

@Dreamerby Many of the ones in these commercials were actually not celebrities before the commericals. That is the interesting part of it. They BECAME celebrities because of the commercials.

Good for him! I don’t begrudge anyone who is successful. I read that he had a critical health scare years ago and lost a couple of toes and part of his thumb to gangrene. So he really has experienced mayhem…guess that’s why he plays him so well.

I was wondering who the guy that plays him was. Is he known for anything other than the Allstate commercials? That's a lot to make per commercial airing. I wouldn't mind that for myself.
