Any spare biscuits?

Here’s another photo of Pepper, Ellie and Vince. This time, they’re watching Vince drink his coffee. Maybe the owners give them titbits from their plates or whatever because they sure hang around when anyone has anything to eat. I’m not in favour of giving dogs bits and pieces and I didn’t think to ask so for the moment, we’re giving them a treat as we sit down to eat at night and that’s eat. I make sure they get their full quota of food at breakfast. Today, we’re going half an hour to the school where Vince used to work as they are having a fete there. His brother and sister-in-law live there too so we’ll call on them while we’re in the area. Perhaps I’ll be able to pick up a few Christmas gifts.

Dogs make it their business to look very hungry when the people are eating.

@JudyEv When I had my dog here it was funny, he would sit and stare at somebody eating something...Ocassionally he would wag his tail...I pretended he was saying..."Oh, whatever it was, PBJ, toast, tuna casserole..is my favorite food." He had alot of favorite foods it seemed.. Jax is pretty annoying with the food begging too.

They were probably trained from the time they were pups.

They really enjoy Vince's company, I think that they will miss him when your tenure there is over. They will be friends forever.

These folk go to Bali fairly regularly I think so we might get asked back if the dogs give us a good reference.

Apparently the owners have taught them not to jump up on people when the people are eating. That's always a good thing.

@JudyEv I don't like it when dogs jump on me. Especially ones I don't know.

@DaddyEvil It's one of my pet hates too. And I don't like dogs licking me either.

Pepper, the needy one, tries to climb on your lap sometimes but she is just too big. She doesn't fit. They don't jump on you thank goodness.

Somehow the above picture makes me feel both amused as well as makes me laugh. The one among Pepper and Ellie closer to Vince looks even more eager to get something eatable. But yes, I think your disciplined approach to give proper food and not give things in between is a better way although the pets might try to play on their owners/guardians emotions!! I hope that you had a good time at the school!

You are so right The owners have surely given them titbits at the dining table and I do not approve of it. Our pets never did that.

@JudyEv They should have trained their dogs. As I have already said we never had this problem. Preiti our last dog would give us company but never expected to be fed. She got her feed before us.

@allknowing The two rescue dogs might have been taken in as older dogs and already entrenched in their bad habits. Preiti was a very special dog.

I agree that it's not good to give dogs titbits from their plates, they get the habit to annoy you while you are eating, this is not something I like.

@JudyEv Those dogs surely have the habit to get something from the plates. The dog of my niece did the same. Every time she invited us for lunch, my husband closed the dog out of the room.

@LadyDuck They were better last night. We gave them a treat as we sat down to eat then spoke sternly if they came near the table so in the end they went off to sleep.
