Shrimp & Grits With A Fried Egg

Woke up to a frigid 18 degrees F this morning. Our coldest day yet. Sunshine now and at 50 degrees for now, until the sun sets soon.
Had an appointment and errands to do earlier today. That all went well. Decided to try out a new restaurant I have heard rave reviews about. A neighbor's son owns it and it is doing well. Found it and so glad I did.
Of course I had the breakfast. Shrimp and grits with a fried egg. Oh my goodness was this ever good. When I lived in New Orleans, I could not get enough of this combination. So much good food I had there is missed. I have made this meal at home a few times.
I will be returning to this place to try out other items on the menu. Have not been out to eat in awhile. But when I am out running errands like today, this was a great place to stop. Very much enjoyed.
Glad to be back home. The cats are always glad as well.
For those not familiar with grits, here is a post I wrote back in 2019 telling you what they are. I see a few myLotters on this 2019 post that are no longer with us. Very sad.

Thank you, it was very much enjoyed. I have eaten grits my entire life. I have written about them many times. Here is a link from 2019 that might help explain about grits.

Not eaten at a restaurant for a while and nor have I ordered for food. Now that the pandemic is behind us may be a hotel outing seems possible.

I did very much for many reasons. My neighbor's son has just opened this restaurant and I like helping the locals. I had been to an appointment, fasting, so it was so nice to sit down to a favorite meal cooked perfect. It is hard to find grits cooked to my liking outside my kitchen.
Hope you are doing well these days. Thoughts are with you.

Yes, as pandemic started, I noticed, some not participating any longer...I fear the worst. Haven't seen Anna, lately! Hope she's ok. Food sounds good. I got a curry stew with rice, from Marukai Wholesale Mart nearby, today. Made my own macaroni salad and cooked bitter melon and fresh beets for sides. Glad good news from appointments!

Many enjoy them anll over the US. There is a certain way to cook them for sure. I like mine on the thick side and make them at home often. Glad you enjoy this dish as well. Grits and eggs just go together so well. Shrimp is a bonus.
