I need a spice-case!

All my spices and dried herbs are in little jars in the top drawer of one of the kitchen units. If I put them on a shelf in one of the cupboards they would take up too much room and be too hard to see, and if they were just on the counter-top they would also take up too much room and possibly be too warm as well. I could array them along the windowsill I suppose but the strong sunlight and temperature changes would do them no good – and in any case all my windowsills are full of plants! This arrangement has been the best I could come up with for the past few years, but now it’s starting to annoy me because they are in no particular order and I spend so long looking for the ingredients I need. I know you can get neat little spice racks that hang on the wall, or even ones that rotate around, but often they only hold a certain size and shape of jar and mostly they only hold about a dozen jars anyway, and having just counted I find I have more than fifty! So I can see I’m going to have to make a bespoke spice-case (like a book-case). There’s a place just beside the end of the units where there’s space for something just 4.5 inches wide that would fit perfectly, it’s out of any sunlight, not near anything warm and not in the way. Maybe I might even be able to find some left-over bits of white MDF in the garage, to blend in with the rest of the kitchen. Then I can arrange them all in alphabetical order and make cooking interesting meals less frustrating! Where do you store your herbs and spices?
